Detom Design is a professional design consulting practice offering services in landscape architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, environmental management, public art and private art. We have a diverse client base ranging from individuals through to large organisations and public authorities.
We bring over 20 years experience to all our design disciplines and a wealth of knowledge that we draw on to assist you with your particular project. We are based in the Illawarra and while our projects are located primarily in greater Sydney, the Illawarra, the Southern Highlands and the South Coast, we have successfully provided services throughout Eastern Australia and in South Africa.

At Detom Design we recognise that each site, each client and each development environment is unique. We know that every solution will have its own evolution and every place its own story. We listen to our clients, examine constraints and opportunities and assess needs. We bring our experience, creativity, diligence and problem solving skills to each project to develop thoughtful, targeted and cost effective design solutions.
Detom Design brings together a team of highly regarded engineers, landscape architects, draftspersons and administrative staff. Our principal designers are supported by an outstanding design and drafting team. Our areas of expertise include Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Ecological Restoration and Public Art.
We take pride in our work and are passionate about delivering quality services for our clients. But when the working week is over, we love weekends. Our people are passionate about the environment and landscapes we are privileged to experience. We love to get out amongst it all - to walk, swim, surf, ski, cycle, garden and capture it all with our trusty Canon.
Our artworks are limited only by our imaginations and we are always open to exploring and experimenting with new techniques and materials. Our public artworks include sculptural works in concrete, stainless steel, rust finished steel, coated polycarbonate, baked enamel and printing techniques. Our private commissions have included stained glass, painting, textiles and photographic imagery.
Our civil engineers carry out flood studies as often requested by Councils for land identified as potentially flood affected. Detom Design's engineers will assess the site in accordance with the relevant Council's design standards. Our engineers will then make recommendations to assist owners in determining the optimum use within the development constraints of flood affected areas.
