Just 149 kms from Adelaide, among grand brick-red clay ocean side cliffs and picturesque countryside is the very welcoming town of Ardrossan. This region of South Australia is one of the states best grain growing areas and Ardrossan is a major port for the shipping of this golden crop with a large silo complex and wharf.

Fishing and boating are major attractions at Ardrossan as is crabbing which makes for a very popular holiday destination. The Ardrossan Hotel/Motel was opened for business in 1881 and is known as the "Top Pub" and is located in the main street of Ardrossan. It's within walking distance of Town Jetty Beach - great for fishing or catching the renowned Blue Swimmer Crabs - walking trails, shops, museum, playground and sporting facilities.

We were a group of 20, mostly old codgers, also several other diners around as well. The meals were delivered timely and pleasantly. The food was spot on too. I didn't hear of anyone complaining about anything, (except us forgetting things, Arthritis, Grandchildren etc)
Reccomend the Top Pub to anyone.

Took a phone order at 1.45pm and had our lunch waiting for us at 2pm when we got there. Fantastic service and friendly staff. Food was good too!

The food was amazing I loved it here I didn’t stay here I just came for the meal but it was the best the chicken schnitzel was so yummy I would recommend this place

While the service was good, sadly we ordered the chef special of barramundi, it was uncooked and still cold and inedible, we were offered a replacement, and a free beverage, but won't be dining here again

The Staff were very Pleasant and couldn't do enough for you.We had the Garlic Prawns on a Creamy Bed of Rice. Very Very nice.My wife had the Garlic Prawns on a Chicken Schnitzel with Salad and Chips. GREAT meals.

The food was really really good. My father in law said he had the best porterhouse steak he had ever had. Big call for a bloke who always orders steak when we go out.

The blond hair girl in her twenty something was very rude to serve you at the dining table. Not very nice and very unprofessional to visitors for the first time. Pub food is average nothing to fancy. Probably recommended by locals and I’m sure it won’t be recommended by those visiting

Everything was clean, the table water was nice and chilly. Staff could have been a bit friendlier. Food was pretty average. The salmon could have been a bit better presented and included more sides given the price. Found a bit of baking paper on the plate.

Excellent motel which is part of the pub. It's not flash but is right in town which is very convenient. It is clean and comfortable at a reasonable rate. Good size bathroom.
