Hair by Phd Parramatta was the original flagship salon, founded in 1968 and was one of the first unisex hairdressers in Parramatta. Since then, we have evolved into being the standard for high end hairdressing in Western Sydney with a reputation for impeccable customer service and talented stylists.
Hair by Phd Carlingford started in 2014 and has become one of the area's leading hair salons. Headed up by the very talented hair stylist Rebecca Moses, our team are highly trained in all aspects of hairdressing like hair colouring, balayage and great skills in Hair Cutting and Styling as well. The salon is ideally located at the Carmen Drive shops near the M2 Oaks Road Bus Stop on the border of Carlingford and West Pennant Hills.
Hair by Phd Camden is the latest salon of the Hair by Phd group. Lemai has been a hairdresser for 10 years, with 6 of those years at Hair by Phd, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of hairdressing. She is an amazing colourist, specialising in balayage and all forms of creative colouring.
At Hair by Phd we have been part of the Parramatta community for nearly 50 years now. We have recently opened salons in the Carlingford and Camden communities and we will endeavour to make a positive impact in those communities as well. We are constantly looking at supporting charities, schools, sporting clubs, business and community programs.

Hands down best salon experience I’ve ever had. My colour specialist was Cassie. She was amazing. She really spent the time to know exactly what I wanted and what my hair needed. I felt comfortable every step of the way as she explained exactly what she was doing and made sure it was what I wanted first.
I’m super grateful for her professionalism and care as it made the experience relaxing and pleasant. It’s the first time in years I’ve had my hair done and I’ve walked with it exactly how I wanted. Not going anywhere else ever again! Thank you Cassie and thank you Hair by PHD Parramatta

Love the crew at Hair by PHD at Parramatta. They are always incredibly polite, professional, helpful and not pushy with the "oversell" of products as some places can be. This was my first time visiting the salon and I was really impressed by their service. I was looked after by Cassie and she was very helpful in giving me suggestions on my hair, in terms of the cut, style and colour. You could definitely tell that she is highly experienced. There were some switches in between and the service was continuously good hand to hand. The other staff were also very friendly and constantly kept asking if I needed anything to drink.
A bit pricy but well worth it!

I visited this salon for a hair color. They sold me products worth 300$ and the color cost me around 500$. Unfortunately, my hair has been falling more than usual ever since the color. The girl at the salon advised me to use the products , which made my hair fall worse. I re visited the salon to share my concern and they sold me another mask saying that “it will bind your hair after the shampoo”. Well !!!! that didn’t work either.
And when i called the salon again, they said ‘
“use the products for a month so your hair will get used to it and hair fall will eventually reduce “.

I had a cut and colour in 2015 which was amazing. I was just moved here, so I was little shy. But the hairdresser listened to me patiently and did more than what I expected. Customer service was excellent.
But I went there again few months later, the hairdresser who did my hair before wasn’t there so I asked them to book me with the senior stylist. Then the result was not good. I wasn’t really happy with my haircut. But I still liked there premium service.
