The case manager I was given appeared to have no sympathy about being off work and having bills to pay . I have worked 49 years and was not well but tried to work one day a work at home , though some days were difficult . My case manager even though I sent my payslips , as soon as receiving them it still took some times up to and over two weeks to get the payment organised let alone paid . NOT helpful when you have accounts and bills to pay

After an initial check I was sent the paperwork promptly for a claim but, due to an unexpected mental health episode(s) didn't ever get round to filling it out. Subsequently the people at met life look like they are going to meet my informal request on a claim, and after not being able to work in my trained position for years.
MetLife have obviously taken note of recent advice and decided to keep their customers a priority, after some bad publicity in the sector.
Thanks again guys, good to have some financial security in these uncertain times!!

Had to make an income protection claim. A little initial confusion about payment date. Always paid on time. Phone call every month to check how I'm going. I never read the reviews prior to purchasing insurance and only when I had to claim. I was nervous as to whether I'd get paid due to other reviews, I have not had a problem. Monthly payments take some getting used to but otherwise can't fault. Been claiming since February.

I also would give a negative review if I could. I disclosed an existing heart condition and they asked for clarification, when I sent them through a brief medical history they questioned things on the report that were'nt even current medical conditions, like diabetes in pregancy over 30 years ago, or some tablets I took for 3 days. Their medical history consent form also allows them to distrubute your medical and private history including senitive material how ever they seem fit. Shocking breach of the privacy laws.

Not happy after call to them this morning after telling her the bad reviews that I’m reading from the web she had politely told me that I needed to talk to a review officer that if I pulled out of my policy l don’t get anything back and that once I turned 60 the premium would go up she actually had a memory loss at how much even though she has worked there for 20 years what a waste of my time and money that I’m now canceling my policy!! Yes if there was a negative score it would be -20

Horrific experience and still more to go! No matter how much information they are given they always want more. I am supposed to be caring for my partner not arguing for what is rightfully hers. and needed by her. My partner has a Disability Support Pension, this has been granted by the Australian Government! The paper work has been supplied yet it is not enough - their "procedures" need to be carried out.What are the "procedures"? and why does this insurance company think its "procedures" are of more importance than those of the Australian Government!

Horrific experience. Employer paid for family coverage that wasn't accepted anywhere. They totally screwed up all of our billing and now we're stuck with huge payments because they couldn't get their act together. They guaranteed payment to multiple providers that were not paid and we are on the hook for. I asked for a conversation and an itemized list of claims and payments to attempt to sort out issues and was promised this would be done, but 3 weeks later there is nothing.
