Services
Psychologists study human behaviour and how people think, feel and react, in order to assist them to lead lives that are fulfilling and meaningful. Clinical Psychologists focus in particular on the understanding, assessment and treatment of all types of mental illness.

Psychologists do not study or prescribe medicine; they use evidence-based treatments including counselling, psycho-education and skill development to assist people to recover from and manage mental illness. They also assist people to cope better with life stressors and trauma, improve motivation and confidence, and develop meaningful relationships with other people.
You do not need a referral to make an appointment to see a clinical psychologist. However in order to claim a rebate under Medicare, Workers Compensation, Victims of Crime, DVA or any other funders, you will need to have a referral from your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. Referrals are typically valid for 1 year.
