I am a Perth-based professional photographer specialising in newborn, child and maternity photography. I specialise in studio and location photography. Through my lens I love to capture the innocence of your newborn baby, the sweet smile of your toddler, the tenderness of an adoring sibling, the bond between you and your child.
You can book your photography session at any of the many parks or beaches Perth has to offer. I recommend dressing appropriately for the choice of location, but most of all, be comfortable and enjoy yourselves. Timeless clothing will help your photos stand the test of time. Avoid wearing clothing with name brands, pictures, or words on them, which can detract from the child and give the photographs a dated look.
Lauren K Photography specialises in newborn photography, birth photography, baby photography, in Perth, Western Australia. These sessions are held at my studio in Sorrento. The first two weeks after the birth of a baby are some of the best days to capture your little one. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you prepare for your newborn photography session.
Your maternity session is a beautiful time where we capture those precious moments with you and your baby bump, and celebrate the joy and anticipation of your precious little one. I supply everything you need for the shoot. You will need to bring some flesh or light-coloured underwear so it blends in with my sheer wraps.
If you have a child old enough to understand, please explain to them and prepare them that they are getting some photos taken. For my children I always bring a little treat along so they have something to look forward to after the shoot. If it is your preference, I am also able to book a studio shoot for children and family sessions.

Fantastic experience!! Laurie is very thorough, personable, you can tell she is experienced. She is well equipped for all possibilities that can arise with a newborn. The prep takes longer, but she takes her time , without rushing, to gently prep the baby for the photos of a lifetime!! A great conversationalist as well, putting us at ease throughout the process. She has a space for the tired parents to rest. Highly recommend her and will use services again in future for other events.

Laurie did a terrific job with my author photos. The results were great, which doesn't only speak to her technical skills. I'm a terrible subject for photos. I always look strained and uncomfortable because I am! Laurie made me feel comfortable, which showed in the pictures. I really appreciated her easy, professional manner. I absolutely recommend her for your photos!

I am in love with the photographs from both of my boys’ newborn sessions as well as my maternity session! I will cherish these moments forever. Laurie is very patient and took such care to capture the perfect images. My boys are now 3.5 and 1.5 years old and they enjoy looking back at the photos too!

We recently had a newborn photoshoot with Laurie. We were all sleep deprived and grouchy and Laurie was so patient and understanding. When baby came three weeks early, and had jaundice, she worked to accommodate our unexpected schedule changes- twice.
Laurie was exceptional with my four-year-old son. She had fun snacks and treats tibkerp him busy (and bribe him for a smile!) Laurie did an amazing job on our little one’s newborn pictures. We’ve gotten so many compliments on them and I’ve sent a few people her way. She is so good with newborns and you can tell this is truly her passion. Laurie is an amazing artist that goes above and beyond to capture the personality of her clients. We used Laurie for my daughters senior pictures. Laurie spent an immense amount of time helping my daughter have the right outfits, feeling comfortable in front of the camera and just getting to know the style and personality that we wanted in our pictures.
