The Quarry is the only restaurant in the Cowra region located amongst the vines and offers a wonderful dining and wine tasting experience. The menu created by chef Paul Loveridge provides a sample of some of Cowra's wonderful produce. In the cooler months, it is possible to have drinks in the lounge by the warming wood fire before moving into our delightful restaurant.
When the sun shines, dine outside under the gum trees in our lovely tree-shaded courtyard. Entrees of either local produce or fresh seafood, The Quarry alters its menus to suit the seasonal produce available, utilising The Quarry's homegrown salads and herbs. Sourced from within the Lachlan Valley food bowl, The Quarry features wonderful local lamb, beef, pork, duck & chicken beautifully prepared by Chef Paul.

On a road trip from Sydney... saw all the great reviews and we were really looking forward to a special and delicious evening. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. Let's begin with the positives... husband had prawn and chorizo linguine to start which he says was lovey. The wine was superb. The environment was welcoming and stylish. Now... the king prawn in panko breadcrumbs was really really poor. The prawns had been sliced in half, were mushy and tasteless. For mains we had the Cowra lamb rump and the lamb ragu. The lamb rump was tough and the ragu was not the delicious slow cooked melt

Situated just a few minutes from Cowra town centre lies this little gem. Featuring an array of tasty and refined dishes built around local produce, we enjoyed the juicy and perfectly-cooked Cowra lamb along with a few glasses of local cold climate wines. We dined in the outdoor garden setting rather than the wood fire-heated dining room as we had a four-legged fur friend accompanying us. We each had three-courses and can not recommend enough any of the six dishes we tried. We will definitely come back when we are next in Cowra.

Set amongst the gum trees, the warm wooden dining room of The Quarry Restaurant in Cowra is popular with locals. The conservative menu—available as two-course ($60) or three-course ($75)—celebrates the produce of the Lachlan Valley region.
Dotted with red grapes and walnuts, the twice-baked gruyere & blue cheese soufflé is the highlight of my meal. It outperforms a generous serve of dry-aged sirloin with sautéed potatoes, mushrooms and eschallots in red wine jus. A Cowra lamb shank braised in tomatoes and red wine on potato mash is simple but enjoyable.

My partner and I arrived without a booking for a Friday Lunch, after checking in via QR code for covid19, we were warmly welcomed and seated quickly.
entrees, mains & desserts were cooked to perfection and plated beautifully, we asked for recommendations for wines to match our meals and were more then happy with the suggestions, with each wine complimenting our chosen dish.
Entrees were the Pork Belly & Cheese Souffle which was decadent yet light and fluffy and full of flavour. Our mains were the Cowra Lamb Rumb & Chicken Surpreme which were both cooked to perfection, And Dessert we had the Banofee
