Our staff are some of the best the industry has to offer and they are relentless in their pursuit to improve and maintain standards both in skill and service levels. We are proud to say that our team have been with us for many years and will be for many more. We know that it can be hard to get to the salon, we all seem to work later and later.
Our incredibly skilled hairdressers have been at Cranium, some seamlessly others have been and returned, for over 12 years! This means we are absolutely certain that you will be looked after the "Cranium Way". What's the Cranium way you ask? As part of your visit, you will be treated to a fantastic hair wash in our reclining massaging basins.
We know how hard you work so we have extended hours to make it as easy as we can for you to visit. We are open most evenings and the team are usually happy to come in even earlier if you ask them nicely. Parking is not easy in the heart of Manly - lucky we have a parking station right under the building!
There have been some recent changes to the Cranium Charity fund. After many years of supporting some incredible charities we have no aligned with Sustainable Salons Australia. Funds created as a result of selling used foil, tint tubes and paper are donated to Ozharvest for every $1 donated these guys provide 2 meals to the homeless.
We only use and stock premium high performing products. We believe that when you leave our salon, you should be able to replicate the results yourself. We will recommend, use and educate you on the best products for you to maintain your in-salon results at home - look good and feel great every day!.

If you’re searching for a good salon on the Northern Beaches, Cranium is certainly not one of them. I was thoroughly looking forward to getting my hair done post-lockdown and having a baby, only to wish I’d never had my hair done. I asked for something similar to what I had previously at Cranium and was booked in for a half head of highlights. The stylist made some suggestions, which I agreed to given their experience. I ended up with a patchy semi-permanent dye which made the old dye underneath look greenish in parts and ash tone highlights framing my face. I called the salon to advise I wasn’t

I finally got my first cut and colour after lockdown, I thought that that would be enough to brighten my day, but the experience of the visit, the care I received was amazing. I have been going to Cranium to see Mel for years now and I honestly do absolutely not trust anyone else. Not only is she talented enough to keep my hair perfectly blonde for years she has also been able to make me fall in love with my recently chocolate brunette hair. The team is always so warm & accommodating when I come in and such a wonderful atmosphere. First thing Ill be doing when lockdown opens up is going here !

Best hairdresser on the northern beaches by far, I shopped around for years until I found Cranium. Mel is fantastic at delivering beautiful results while managing client expectations and really caring about the long term health of her clients hair. It’s hard to find someone who can master blonde colour on my super fine hair, but she absolutely nails it every time!

Again an exceptional job this time by Grace. Have recently moved here and this was my second time at Kelly’s wonderful salon. So thrilled to have found a lovely salon with terrific staff and the colour by Grace was exactly what I wanted. Kelly styled my hair and she is fabulous and knows exactly what I want. The job was done quickly, the massage chair was so relaxing and the music was nice and not loud. Highly recommend Cranium Hair.

Was able to get in quite easily and saw Robin, who was an experienced stylist and extremely affable. She did a fantastic cut and a really good styling. Someone else here complained about prices and that's silly - if you want expensive, try AUS $195 in Los Angeles, and that's not at a celebrity nest; then you'd be paying AUS $265. AUS $100 incl tip is a very fair price, especially for a salon of this quality.

Unfortunately I wont be back.The staff add on a whole lot of extras each time (i.e. charge for a conditioning treatment which was around $50) that I didn't ask for. Beware,you need to be a little more assertive than I was and discuss the end price before going ahead.
Saying that,I was happy with the colour and the coffee was really good.Have found another local hairdresser who are transparent/honest with their pricing and my hair looks just as good.

These guys are my favorite.. The stylists spend time understanding what is it that you need, and then offer suggestions accordingly.. I am quiet fussy about my hair, as it's a big mop of unruly curly hair, but I have been happy with the cut and color service here everytime. Melissa has been my go to stylist and she's a darling, happy to help and understands your personality. Friendly service, complimentary hand massages with the head wash, and champagne take it up a notch from other salons. Though a little pricier than other places, it is well worth it.

The salon is easy to find, it is spacious and sophisticated. The decor is lovely, and the seats are well spaced. It has the most up-to-date magazine collection I've ever seen. On most of the occasions I've been there, I've been served cappuccino, sometimes with a cookie, and I know had my appointments been later in the day it would have been sparkling wine. Part of the hair wash ritual is a complimentary hand massage.
