Did you know that you don't need council approval to build a granny flat on your property?. This means that you can have a 2 bedroom granny flat built in your backyard, with no council approval. So you can get approved in as little as 10 days without neighbours objecting. Not to mention the potentially lower cost.
When you build with Backyard Grannys, we ensure everything is taken care of right throughout the construction stage. Excavate and concrete 300mm Diameter Pad Footings (to suit "M-Class" site classification) up to 500mm deep. 230mm square Brick piers with 10mm galvanised threaded rod tiedowns to all perimeter piers.

From the very first meeting with Grant from backyard granny’s, we have had outstanding service, communication and quality. Their team work together like a well oiled machine, all communicating with each other and taking the guesswork out of it for us.
Having never built before this was a daunting experience for us, yet saying it was so Easy would be an understatement. I had so many specific ideas about what I wanted and I was able to get everything the way I wanted it. Build progressed quickly with good communication. I am very pleased with the final result and everyone that sees it is very impressed. I now have a beautiful new 2 bedroom granny flat in my back yard and I couldn't be happier. My yard is quite steep and the block is long, both of which presented challenges in the design and building process, all of which were overcome. The team were able to modify the design to fit my ideas and I am so pleased with the result!
