Coco Chanel said If you want to start a collection start with a brooch because you will find most use for it. It can be pinned on a suit lapel, collar or pocket, on a hat, belt or evening gown. Her advice is still pertinent. No wonder you will find yourself wearing this very beautiful antique brooch again and again.
Through the different eras necklaces have been symbols of status and wealth and an integral part of fashion. The necklace is possibly the most obvious of jewels. Highly visible around the neck and compared to many other jewels relatively large a necklace gives the jeweller the opportunity to create a complex design ( however deceptively simple the final result appears) and simply to flaunt his skills.
Men's jewellery has traditionally included cufflinks, cufflink and stud sets for formal occasions, stick pins, tie pins and tie bars and tacks for wearing in lapels or with ties, watches both pocket and wrist and watch chains although currently these are often worn as neck chains or bracelets, and dress or signet rings.
If you love the urbane chic of authentic Art Deco engagement rings you are in excellent company. Authentic Art Deco Engagement Rings are currently the most asked for and desired period rings. This dynamic period produced the first truly modern jewellery reflecting the tumultuous social, political, technical and artistic changes with unique sleek geometric forms and fine period details.
Diamond engagement rings are the most popular of engagement rings to formalise your love and commitment. A Diamond engagement ring for many symbolises true love. Diamond engagement rings are found in all periods giving couples a wide choice of styles, metals and diamond cuts.

Authentic period diamond engagement rings offer a variety of diamond cuts- quite different from the modern brilliant and square cuts -with their own distinctive individual mellow charm: rose cuts, old mine cuts, Old European cuts, Transition cuts, emerald cuts, old square cuts and the very desirable and sought after old Asscher cuts. The epitome of Art Deco desirable design for the last ninety odd years - and into the future.

They replaced a missing stone from my art-deco engagement ring and they chose the perfect old-cut diamond, it looks like it always belonged in the setting. Thanks so very much!

The jewellers here are like those only found in fairytales. I've found they're really knowledgeable about old craftwork, rare pieces and archaeology. Their advice has a very personal touch that's more inquisitive than imperative. Unique stock, personalised consulting, great company. I'm incredibly glad that I bought the ring from such a thoughtful and expert business.

Being a Melbourne Jeweller(s) that has stood the test of time, I can highly recommend having a look through their Website, and if you can, - visit the store!! Alfredson's Jewellers, whom are most welcoming, are only too accommodating of any queries I had regarding the well-selected, surprisingly outstanding & high quality, vast variety of Antique jewellery at their beautifully displayed boutique (yet secure & private at the same time). I will continue to check in on what they have sourced from near and far, beautiful Jewellery!.... I have utmost confidence in their knowledge of qualities of their

I inherited a few items which i was told were antique's and quite valuable and called James Alfredson Jewellers to get it valued. WOW... how direct was the owner (i presumed) in that he said it bring it in a lets see if its worth adding to our collection. When i got there i felt look down upon as they took a long time to open the front doors after staring at me for a few seconds. When i showed them the item I was shocked at the low valuation they advised not that I know much about antiques. I decided to get another opinion from another antique jeweler in the city starting with K. (I'd prefer to
