They come in two forms: Monocrystalline Si and Polycrystalline Si.

Liz and I installed a grid connect solar power system from Solar Charge P/L for our new environmentally friendly house almost four years ago. We have been delighted with our solar power for homes. It does what Solar Charge promised. Our usage bills on the house are almost zero over the year and we look forward to the Victorian feed-in-tariff giving us more credits in the future.

I am now on my 4th iBoost in three years.
First one went totally dead after 13months and Marlec graciously replaced, this lasted for 11 months. I decided to have my immersion replaced just to be sure despite only being about five years old. I had to pay them 120£ for a new unit which I have subsequently found to be refurbished. This lasted just over 4 months before tripping my circuit breaker and becoming display and totally dead four the third time. So as to be perfectly fair to Marlec I employed an electrician to thoroughly vet my system and find a fault, he couldn’t so another £100 wasted

A company that is just not trying hard enough. We purchased a Solar iBoost from Marlec and had problems from the first 6 months. We got through 5 iBoosts in 4 years and Marlec were not interested in fixing the issue we had that would cause the iBoost to fail. From 5 units we had 3 different failures.
As a unit the Solar iBoost seems a very fragile and with the constant failures we had, the cost of returning the unit to Marlec and the cost of an electrician to manage the installs the unit actually cost us more money that it saved.
Marlec only offer a 1 year warranty and if you are looking to buy
