Though it's natural to feel a bit apprehensive about attending counselling, most people find it an enormous relief to start telling their story to a skilled, empathic and non-judgemental listener. Anna forges genuine therapeutic relationships with her clients to help them better understand themselves and enable long-lasting, meaningful change.
Anna begins the counselling process by conducting a thorough assessment, looking at what has brought you to counselling, your current circumstances, your background and what you would like to be different. Working together, you'll then decide how counselling can help you achieve your goals. Anna tailors treatment according to your specific needs, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches.

Services
People come to counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons, and each person is unique in the way they respond to life's challenges. It is therefore vital that counselling be specifically tailored, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. The counselling relationship aims to provide a safe space to help you better understand yourself and enable long-lasting and meaningful change to enhance your quality of life.
I bring a broad range of experience and qualifications to my counselling and psychotherapy practice, and devote considerable time to furthering my knowledge and skills. My clinical areas of interest include disordered eating and eating disorders, specialising in treatment for binge eating disorder and body image concerns.
Many people have a difficult relationship with food and let's face it, our modern obsession with dieting and body shape doesn't help! Disordered eating can involve feeling out of control around food and becoming fixated on dieting, 'health' and restrictive food rules, leading people to lose touch with the body's natural hunger and fullness signals.
Currently, BUPA, AHM and Medibank offer private health rebates for my counselling services. Please contact your private health insurer with enquiries regarding available rebates. Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for counsellors and psychotherapists, such as myself. I keep my fees as low as possible for this reason.
