Hey, I'm Nick and I created Barley Monks because photography of kids and families being their absolute chaotic selves is something I love being able to offer. I'm not going to bore you with talking about myself in the third person. I'd rather just be myself and hopefully by doing so you get more of an insight into who I am, and my photography style, which is fun, chaotic, candid, creative, natural and modern.

We absolutely love the family photos taken by Nick recently. Not only it is an amazing experience, Nick is great in capturing all the motion and happy faces in a very natural way, fantastic! Nick recently captured our mature-age wedding ... perfectly! His presence on the day was unobtrusive and always circumspect, but he saw the wedding through all of our eyes and especially with his own candid perception too. And it was all so simple. We did only a few edits to his proposed album, and it has now become a treasure in our home, which we pore over with family and friends, but also privately in our own time, because it reveals something new to cherish about the day, each time it is opened. Nick was amazing. I love taking photos myself, so my kids really suffer from camera fatigue and they brought a challenge to Nick on our shoot. Nick was extremely patient and not phased at all by them. We just chatted while the boys did their thing and eventually it Nick was just a quiet observer to the kids having their own fun. It was a really easy comfortable afternoon, especially for me, as I’m usually more happy behind the camera instead. I’m truly grateful to get some photos of my eldest before he becomes a grumpy teenager, too cool to smile for photos! Nick has a lovely eye for photography
