Sonia has lived most of her life on King Island. Returning from WW2, her father wanted a new life so his family could grow in a peaceful and happy place. A country childhood, with cows, chooks, home cooking, fresh produce and woodfires. Catching fish, diving for abalone and baking crays, long sunsets and exploring.
Peter & Sonia married and after raising children, wanted to share this wonderful part of the world with visitors. Green Ponds Cottage and hostess, Sonia, made our stay absolutely perfect! We arrived to a warm cosy cottage with radio playing. Both fridge and pantry were fully stocked with fresh food, fruit, bread, home-made marmalade and quince jelly as well as milk and delicious King Island cheeses (huge packs). The garden at the cottage is very pretty with not only parsley but also an apple and a tamarillo tree both bearing fruit. The bed was very comfortable and hot water system efficient. The location is very convenient to town of Currie and the perimeter hedge shields cottage from the winds and provides

The Splendid, Homely, Cosy, Comfortable and Welcoming Fire-place Warmed Green Ponds Stay Made Our First King Island Holiday In Challenging, Erratic Weather Conditions Most Enjoyable. Sonia's Scones Fresh and Warm From Her Range Oven Were A Hearty and Welcoming Treat Upon Our Arrival. Resplendent King Island's Treasures of Rich, Delectable, Flavoursome, Indulging Unique and Varied Produce and Products Pleasantly Amazed and Delighted Us. An Excellent and Enjoyable Holiday Having All Our Needs Graciously Met and Being So Close to Currie We Enjoyed Lots Of Nice Walks Meeting Cheery, Friendly Locals
