Services
The Mountain View Hotel is located in the heart of a tiny hamlet called Whitfield, in Victoria's King Valley wine region. The hotel has been owned by the Pizzini family since 1995. the Pizzini family also own and run Pizzini Wines Cellar Door and A tavola! Cooking School, both only two kilometers from the hotel.
Our full menu is available for lunch and dinner every day. Lunch is served from 11.30am to 2.30pm, with two sitting times and dinner from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, also with two sittings. Spaces are limited so please book ahead by phoning 03 5729 8270. Our wine list features plenty of local producers, along with a selection from around the globe (anything to prevent us from developing cellar palate!)

On a hot summer day it doesn't matter how good the menu is if you are stuck in the sun sweating. This is where the Mountain View scores on all fronts. A great menu with more than the usual fare coupled with beautiful naturally shaded outdoor seating. The feeling is akin to dining in a rainforest whilst still being in the King Valley. Always a good idea to book ahead to avoid disappointment. I should also note all of the staff understand great customer service.

The service was incredible, our waiter was very funny and we were even provided a surprise cake for our friends birthday. The beer garden is lovely and charming and the whole place is overall very calm, as well as having decent sized portions. Highly recommend visiting the Mountain View Hotel if you’re ever passing through Whitfield!

Stopped by for lunch on our way to Tolmi Travelling with my little dog who was welcome Sat in beer garden near the little stream and what a beautiful setting Staff were lovely and helpful Our meal was excellent. Could have stayed longer but had too keep travelling Definitely going back when I am down that way again to visit family 👍

Friday 31/12/2021 - I had made an online booking as usual (have been visiting this hotel for many, many years) Travelled 2hrs. On my way, we rang to advise that we were running late, (we had to return home for an emergency) we left our contact details on a recorded message. When we arrived, we were asked to check in which my wife did via her mobile app. We were advised that as we are late our booking is now reduced to a 45min stay. I advised that we had rung advising that we would be about 40 min late. We were told, sorry, but we have not checked our mobile messages. We were asked for proof of

Fantastic. An oasis in the valley. Green lush outdoor area like a cool tropical rainforest. Great ambience and the service excellent. A small detail like knowing who had which meal and which drink is SO much better than “who had the fish?” Noted and Thankyou. Meals were delicious and quick too on a busy day
