Tibooburra's Family Hotel is an authentic outback family pub, not just a name, that will welcome you and your family like one of their own. The publicans, Melissa and William, have built on the history of their iconic pub (built 1882) to create an experience of genuine country hospitality often missing in the rushed and impersonal ways of the city.
The Family Hotel is also famed for the Murals that cover the walls of the bar. Created in the 1960s by Clifton Pugh, Russell Drysdale and others, they are a must-see! Not for the sensitive as they are a bit bawdy. The locals will ask "how you doing", they do mean it and will be up for a chat - in true Corner County style.

All around the red dusty soils of Outback New South Wales stretch to the horizon. When gold was discovered in 1880 this became a thriving town but today it is a shadow of its former self.

I was travelling with my family around Christmas and was turned away the moment they came to know we were from Sydney even though we showed them our COVID test done a day before travelling to Tibooburra. The owners also spoke to us rudely upon knowing that we are from Sydney but live miles away from HotSpots. Wont recommend it. On the other hand just across the road there us a fuel station and they also have camping spots and room gave us a room to spend the night. Very friendly and hospitable place. Highly recommended.

Great country pub staff were awesome the meal was huge could not fault it at all.
I also stayed the night across the road in the motel and the room I could not fault either every thing you need shower, toilet, fridge, air conditioning and comfortable bed. Super clean.
For a place in a small country town I would highly recommend a meal and a overnight stay.
