Aquila Eco Lodges
Aquila Eco Lodges are nestled in the Southern Grampians National Park at the foot of Mount Abrupt, near the township of Dunkeld, that is well known for its art and dining attractions. Aquila is a modern, ecologically sustainable nature retreat that is also a sanctuary for kangaroos and wallabies. Quiet and peaceful, you will not meet with crowds here.

3 km walking track on the property offers spots for quiet meditation, bird watching and enjoyment of rare native plants. If you are interested in Australian native animals you will find a plethora of birds to watch, kangaroos and wallabies basking in the Sun, joeys frolic in the grass and in summer echidna and lizards meandering on our walking track with an emu here and there hiding behind a grass tree.
Services
The property is bordered by the Grampians National Park and the Dunkeld Golf Course, providing a perfect environment for a retreat. With contemporary award-winning design, the four lodges feature day-beds set along huge picture windows, red gum floors, scenic patios with gas BBQs and fully equipped kitchens.
The Lofthouse at Aquila Eco Lodges is a perfect retreat for families or a group of friends. It ideally sleeps 4 people, but can accommodate up to a maximum of 5. Beds can be arranged in 2 queen beds + 1 single or 1 queen and 3 single beds. The ground floor is tiled throughout and houses a bedroom, lounge room, dining a full kitchen and a bathroom.
The Treehouses at Aquila Eco Lodges have been designed as a retreat for couples but if necessary can sleep one more person in the lounge room. The bedroom is located on the top floor with picturesque views of the surrounding tree tops. On the first floor are the bathroom, full kitchen, dining and a living area.
We are happy to provide transport to our guests till 11:30pm. In lieu of a 'cab charge' we appreciate a donation to the wildlife rescue, with which we are involved as foster carers. Accredited by Eco Tourism Australia, Aquila Eco Lodges offer interpretive walking track and a resource library. We collect our own water, generate power and deal with all waste on site. Our aim is to run Aquila Eco Lodges in line with principles of sustainable living and with a minimum impact on the environment.

Absolutely loved staying here. Completely private and spacious accommodation run by very friendly and helpful hosts. It was a great base to explore the Grampians and nearby Dunkeld and Hamilton. Definitely worth two nights stay if not more. A great place for your own private retreat too.

A wonderful location. Private, romantic and luxurious. All offgrid surrounded by pristine natural bush full of wildlife. Harry and Iwona are delightful, friendly hosts that welcomed us and had the fire going in our couples Treehouse.
Will definately be back!

Aquila are in a beautiful bush setting with plenty of the best kinds of wildlife. Staying for our wedding anniversary was perfect. As the season was turning to cool weather the lodge was warm, cosy, well presented and very comfortable. Situated at the base of the impressive Mt Abrupt and therefore near some spectacular walks. We love this place, and will be back.

40°C and both AC plus fridge out of order. Really friendly host could'nt help us out and the 3 other lodges were reserved, so switching impossible. Nice lodge but could not be inside ...

We're stayed here a few years ago. It is a great location, so close to the Grampians and very tranquil. It is right among the bush, so the smells, the sounds, the birds (and insects) are all around. The units are spacious and you have everything you need. You must have a car to get around though, everything is just a little too far to walk, unless you're very fit and you bring your bicycle with you. Very friendly hosts, reasonably priced.
