Aquila Eco Lodges are nestled in the Southern Grampians National Park at the foot of Mount Abrupt, near the township of Dunkeld, that is well known for its art and dining attractions. Aquila is a modern, ecologically sustainable nature retreat that is also a sanctuary for kangaroos and wallabies. Quiet and peaceful, you will not meet with crowds here.
3 km walking track on the property offers spots for quiet meditation, bird watching and enjoyment of rare native plants. If you are interested in Australian native animals you will find a plethora of birds to watch, kangaroos and wallabies basking in the Sun, joeys frolic in the grass and in summer echidna and lizards meandering on our walking track with an emu here and there hiding behind a grass tree.

Aquila are in a beautiful bush setting with plenty of the best kinds of wildlife. Staying for our wedding anniversary was perfect. As the season was turning to cool weather the lodge was warm, cosy, well presented and very comfortable. Situated at the base of the impressive Mt Abrupt and therefore near some spectacular walks. We love this place, and will be back.

We're stayed here a few years ago. It is a great location, so close to the Grampians and very tranquil. It is right among the bush, so the smells, the sounds, the birds (and insects) are all around. The units are spacious and you have everything you need. You must have a car to get around though, everything is just a little too far to walk, unless you're very fit and you bring your bicycle with you. Very friendly hosts, reasonably priced.
