Amongst the numerous restaurants in this state, the Indian Tandoori Restaurants are entirely unique in authentic cuisine of ancient India, Land of Kings, and once ruled by the famous Mughal Emperors. Traditionally, Toam Gahs (restaurants) were gathering places in the Indian subcontinent, where members of royalty and colonials ate.
The various dishes were cooked with a subtle blend of spices, aromatic and flavoursome or spicy and piping hot. Indian history dates back 4,000 years, and Indian cuisine is approximately two thousand years to date. Over the centuries, India has been invaded by the Greeks, Persians and Portuguese, creating the change in culinary habits of various provinces in India.

Indian Tandoori Restaurant in Albury, now situated at 437 Dean Street, Albury, was established in 1998 & has since become a local favorite. This award winning restaurant caters for traditional North Indian & Goan cuisines, & has a menu which is changed from time to time to tickle the taste buds. We do not compromise quality for price.
Dosa - Rice & Lentil pancake cooked on hotplate until golden brown served with coconut chutney & sambar. It is rich in carbohydrates & protein. Lovely staff. Great food but fairly expensive as compared to other nearest places. Thats why i gave four star.
But dining experience (traditional Indian+western) was great actually one of the best so far in Australia.
Liked the layout and design of the place. Serving and plating was pretty good as well as the food portion size.
We ordered lentil soup and veg samosa as entrees. Soup I liked the most taste, consistency and texture was perfect.
I did not like the Garlic naan it had dried garlic crumbs on the naan instead of garlic butter paste. Rest of the dishes were good.

We ordered the Lamb Korma and the tikka Lamb Cutlets with plain nan.
The flavours and spices were excellent. The nan soaked up the lamb korma and we washed it all down with a good sauvignon blanc. We had this two nights in a row to see if the quality was consistent, and it was. Can one have too much good food? I don't think so.

What a delectable, efficient & friendly restaurant! Celebrated my mum's 80th birthday here with a large group of family & friends. What a wonderful, memorable experience. We were all thrilled with the quality of food, service & communication provided by Naziya & her family crew. Thanks in abundance. Warmly appreciated! Would highly recommend this Indian restaurant as one of Albury's best.👍🥂😉

We went to Indian Tandoori on our way back from Sydney to Melbourne. It is one of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten in so far. All our friends have decided to drive from Melbourne to Albury frequently just so we can savour the yummy food there.. highly recommend if you love authentic and delicious indian food.

The food wasnt bad but not to the level of price you pay. I found it extremely expensive, you pay 15% as holiday surcharge which I don't see in Sydney..$87 bill without starters and deserts...you will find other restaurants with much better quality within 200 meters. Used to be really good few years back...

Be ware!! Our family of three had to wait for an hour for our food, despite booking a table. The portions were very stingy and hardly enough for one person. Had to wait an extra 45 minutes for an extra roti, which made my curry cold. The couple sitting next to me left before the food could even arrive due to how long they had to wait. The staff was unhelpful and unaware of how long people were waiting. Price was extremely high for the terrible quantity and long wait. Thought I was going to starve!!
