At Mary River Dental, we believe our approach combines all the comforts of traditional care (and the benefits of our long-time experience in the community) with an updated and more modern customer experience. Since its inception, our team have always been passionate about putting our patients first and improving the oral health of our community.

Even with a new name and new look, that philosophy continues today. More than two decades ago, Dr Ian Harvey bought a dental clinic with the goal of delivering patient-centred, high-quality dental care. Since then, he and his team have built a warm and welcoming environment that makes it easy to get oral health treatment that's right for you.
Services
Here at Mary River Dental, we understand that unexpected dental emergencies can arise, requiring prompt dental attention. We endeavour to treat your emergency as soon as possible and take your situation seriously to protect your future oral health. Our dentists are skilled at handling all dental emergencies, including severe tooth aches, impacted wisdom teeth problems and badly chipped or broken teeth.
We accept several payment options including cash, credit card, EFTPOS, cheques and the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) flexible payment scheme. Dental implants benefit patients who have one or more missing teeth, are currently wearing dentures, or have endured older methods of tooth replacement and seek a permanent alternative.
One of the most important aspects of dentistry is preventing the onset of dental problems and oral diseases. By avoiding the need for treatments further down the track, preventative dentistry saves you time, effort and money. Regular dental assessments are a key aspect of preventative dentistry and should be conducted every six months.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is important for healthy teeth and gums, as well as your general wellbeing and vitality. A number of serious dental and medical problems in your mouth - and in other parts of your body - can result from poor oral hygiene habits. Gingivitis (gum disease), mouth infections and periodontal disease (inflamed gums and bones) are common outcomes of poor oral health.
Periodontal disease is mankind's most prevalent disease and is the leading cause of tooth loss along with tooth decay in adults. Nearly 75% of the population has periodontal (gum) disease and once you get it, it doesn't go away without treatment. Gum disease rarely causes pain and is a silent disease - you can have it and not even know it, however, common symptoms are swollen red gums that may bleed easily along with bad breath.

I've been going to Pretoria Bridge Dental since I was a kid and the experience has always been extremely pleasant. I've seen different staff throughout the years but they have always been amazing. Even after moving further away, I would still come back for the wonderful service. Highly recommend.

Very calm and welcoming atmosphere, meticulous but not stressful with COVID protocols. Everyone from the front staff to the hygienist to the dentist were so professional. I’m actually looking forward to my full exam knowing I can trust their advice and skills.

I hate going to the dentist but I love this office, everyone is so kind and my dentist is very gentle. The quality of work is the best you can get, they use the latest technology and products for fillings. They are always checking in to make sure you are comfortable and Dr. Wong even has a special method for the freezing shot that is much less painful than most. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist then go here and request Dr. Wong.

I have enjoyed every experience I've had at Pretoria Bridge Dental and as someone who used to dread dental visits, that's not something I thought I'd ever say. The front staff are knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The hygienists and dentists I've seen are the same! So knowledgeable and patient answering any questions I have. The facilities are very modern, clean and I love that there are screens in the rooms where the dentists can show and explain the photos and x-rays of your teeth.
