Welcome to Walkley Heights Child Care Centre, where the children have fun, gain friendships and learn life long skills, also where you as parents will have the confidence to leave your child in a safe and nurturing environment. Provide a secure happy and caring environment, which we will promote the feeling of trust, acceptance and belonging, being and becoming.
Our meal times give children the opportunity to explore various tastes and textures, along with sharing family values and cultures. We encourage families to participate by providing recipes from other cultures or what their children enjoy. All Staff are currently trained in "Safe Food Handling", and encourage and promote Healthy Eating choices with the children.
As a parent I looked at four other child care centers and was not impressed by them at all. Very clean and tidy place I found the staff very helpful and friendly. I liked how they cooked on the premises, menu was always out on the board. Everything was supplied within the centre and my daughter loved bringing home drawings and crafts.
It is important that young children nurturing attachments with their careers, to ensure the feel safe and secure. Our priority is to ensure all babies(0-2yrs).Feel secure & extend their development through play and nurturing. We strive to have an open relationship of sharing between caregivers and parents.
The Toddler children are also known as the "Jumping Frogs" and are aged from 2 years to 3 1/2 years. When we reach around 3 1/2 we graduate to the Busy Bee room. Labeling everything is so important to avoid lost property.
Toys from home should stay at home and not brought to child care in case of them getting broken or lost(exception if it's a must have for sleep) We also encourage sun smart protection- appropriate hats (bucket, legionaries or wide brim), appropriate clothing (tops with sleeves) and sunscreen applied regularly through the day.

Have known someone who works there who has constantly seen other employees change nappies without gloves or washing their hands. They have fed children old food and can never manage to remember any of the children's names. Maybe the parents aren't quite aware of what goes on once they have dropped their children of but i think they should become aware.
