Flat feet are very common and may be caused by either hypermobile joints and laxity in ligaments, or can stem from structural bony architecture.
Patients with flat feet often experience a variety of foot problems throughout life as having flat feet are mechanically inefficient for the body, which can result in many different overuse conditions arising such as plantar fasciitis, tendinopathy, bursitis, and deformities such as bunions and hammertoes.

Fungal nail infection (aka onychomycosis) is a common condition which often results in an unsightly nail appearance associated with progressive nail thickening, discolouration, and eventually permanent loss of the toenail. The condition is most commonly caused by dermatophytes such as Tinea, which also result in fungal skin infection (Athlete's Foot).
Ganglion cysts are common in the foot and ankle and typically occur at sites of tendon injury, or joint pathology such as a cartilage defect or bony spur. They are also common in the wrist, and patients who develop a ganglion cyst in their foot often have a history of similar cysts elsewhere.
A range of treatment options are available for this condition at Perth Podiatric Surgery, and our specialist podiatric surgeons will assess you in conjunction with imaging such as ultrasound or MRI to determine the most appropriate management for your condition.Typical treatment of an acute ganglion may involve aspiration of the fluid from the cyst in conjunction with injection of cortisone into the area.

I sought help from Dr Knox for an advanced fungal toenail infection after years of incorrect diagnosis and treatment from other doctors and podiatrists. The day surgery was not cheap but it was worth every cent. My nails are now completely clear, have grown back healthy and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Dr Knox for a great result and to all the staff for being so friendly and welcoming.
