The Sevenhill Hotel opened in 1863 as the "Black Eagle" Hotel, making it over 150 years old. It was opened by Anton Kranewitter, the brother of Father Kranewitter. Clare Valley's iconic pub, the Sevenhill Hotel, is living up to its name as the friendliest pub in the region with managers, Paul Longbottom and Kate Shadiac, receiving excellent feedback from locals and tourists alike.
At The Sevenhill Hotel we strive to support our local businesses and suppliers to produce the freshest, tastiest meals in the Clare Valley with that 'Good Old Country Service.'. We are unique in that you can explore our underground cellar to choose from hundreds of local Clare Valley Wines to accompany your meal.
As you will see from our photographs, we have a number of venues within the one destination here at The Sevenhill Hotel. Tables are available in the main dining room and outdoors in our covered area or on our lawn on warmer days. Or downstairs in our walk-through wine cellar for more intimate occasions for up to twenty or so guests at one sitting.

Went for dinner tonight while staying in Clare. Tried the Pork strip schnitzel based on the recommendations here.
What a great choice. Firstly the food came out hot, like really hot and everything was hot... the chips, the schnitty and the gravy. Too hot to eat straight away, I'd forgotten how rarely that happens these days, and how great it is to get served piping hot food.
The schnitzel itself was really delicious the pork well seasoned and full of flavour and the crumbing crisp and tasty. Chips well cooked, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The mushroom gravy was a nice complement

I be back. Want to try something different on menu.
Pork schnitzel was far from ordinary. Tasty, tender, and huge. Mushroom sauce was top rate.
Though I dont like chips under schnitzel, they were still crisp and ever so tasty. Slaw salad with rocket on top was a good side order complement this meal.
Also love the style of pub, great outdoor eating area.

Steak and beer was superb. We also had chicken. This was cooked and presented so well, you will appreciate what I am saying when you try it. The puree sweet potatoe was unbeatable. The pub is history, great to see. Very well presented. Staff are some of the best I have seen.

Best pub experience. Our group of 6 loved the amazing burgers, hand crumbed schnitzels & the snapper. All magnificent. Our kids had a ball! One of our group arrived later & Jo so kindly looked after us as did all staff / management on the afl grand final night in the beer garden. Having never written a review compelled to share our glowing praise & appreciation. Excellent wine cellar too. We can't wait to visit & dine here on our next visit to Clare.

Staff were friendly and polite and managed to get me a table. But they were busy so I would suggest booking ahead.
I had the duck spring rolls and the pork belly and they both had so much flavour and we're beautifully presented.
The venue itself was really nicely decorated but still had the warmth you get from a country pub. I highly recommend it.

We went for dinner and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dining room is tastefully decorated and air conditioned. We had a drink in the front bar first and then went in and ordered. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with chips and house made coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious. Not something I'd usually order. My partner ordered one of the chef's specials. It was crispy pork belly on stir fried noodles. He really enjoyed his too. When we are in the area again we'll return for another delicious meal.
