The black house ant is shining black and 2-3mm long. Nests are normally in the ground, under bark or decaying timber, in cracks in cement, lawns and open areas. Indoors, the little black ant can be located in wooden items as well as in walls and junction between the carpet and walls. Many thanks to Shane who provided us with some invaluable advice about termites over the phone during these times of social isolation. He was so helpful - even took the time to send us some information via email - and put our minds at ease! His quote for termite inspection was by far the most reasonable we found in the area. Shane is an absolute legend. We had a terrible case of bird mites, to the point we were covered in bites. Before burning our house down, we decided to give GBS Pest Control a call. Shane was out within two days, worked his magic and a day later not a single mite or bite!! Reasonably priced, great customer service and even a follow up phone call to see how everything is. Doesn’t get much better than that. Highly recommended!! (And we never had to set the house on fire).

We had some difficulty with termites due to infested neighbourhood trees (!), and Shane was a very helpful and calming influence in a stressful situation.
Shane was extraordinarily knowledgeable and very friendly, and didn't even comment about my messy bedroom ;) . Shane was efficient, punctual and professional and offered pet-friendly solutions. If you ever need a good pest controller, Shane is your man!

Highly recommend, very experienced and honest service. After receiving a really expensive quote for termite removal. GBS came out to inspect and informed me I didn’t have a termite problem. This was done at no cost. Hard to find honest people these days and I was overwhelmed with the amazing service! I don’t usually write reviews but this is a review that had to be written.
