Peter has 35 years experience as a Chartered Accountant, starting his career with Deloitte as an auditor. Peter has a wide range of audit, taxation and accounting experience and acts for clients ranging from high net worth family groups, business owners, charitable organisations and self managed superannuation funds.
The goal of tax planning is to arrange your financial affairs so as to minimise your taxes. There are three basic ways to reduce your taxes, and each basic method might have several variations. You can reduce your taxable income, increase your deductions, and take advantage of tax credits, rebates and/losses.
At every stage, from start-up to large enterprise, businesses can benefit from sound advice that goes beyond the essentials of accounting, taxation and audit. With more than a hundred years of combined experience in providing a full range of services to our clients, Lewis & Coble is well placed to provide that advice.
Many clients are now setting up their own self managed superannuation funds so that they can maintain control over their investments and to avoid the high fees of the large retail funds. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and we are therefore unable to offer advice on any specific investments.
Our emphasis on understanding makes our audit methodology unique - understanding the business, the owner and the balance sheet. Our audit approach has greater emphasis on systems, risk, reconciliation and accounting policies, and less focus on extensive 'robotic' verification and technical compliance.
