I have been truly blessed to have made my living as a photographer specialising in babies, kids and families for nearly 20 years. All kidding aside, I wouldn't have it any other way. I know it's a clich, but I love what I do. I honed my skills working for a major portrait studio before being offered a chance to run my own, which I did for many happy years at Alderley.
The best times of day (and normally the only time I shoot) are mornings until about lunch time. With older babies and toddlers it's really important to time the session around them for the best results. Once you've booked your session, I will email you with more detailed information on what to wear and bring.
I have a great range of maternity gowns and lovely bits and pieces we can use for the shoot. I will also send you a list of suggested items to bring. With my maternity sessions, i do as many outfits, set ups and poses as we can in the time allowed. 45 minute session including 5 high resolution image files in colour, plus B&W & vintage versions (15 photos) via direct download so you can so you may reprint & enlarge to your heart's desire.
The ideal age for a newborn session is between 5-9 days while they are still nice and sleepy. It's best to contact me during your pregnancy to book your due date in. I book a tentative appointment based on your due date and get you to contact me within a day or two of baby's arrival to finalise your booking.
I allow one hour for older babies and children. We need to work quickly as most get over it after about 30 or so minutes, but i will do as many set ups as we can before we get to the "Take me back to my trailer!" stage. I like to keep it quite simple. Classic clothes work best. You want to like the photo in 30 years!

Kate was absolutely amazing with my little boy for his 1st birthday smash cake photos. He is extremely energetic and doesn't sit still for long yet Kate was able to capture some amazing shots regardless. She helped me to get him smiling and made silly noises with me. She had me laughing as much as him and we both enjoyed our time immensely. Kate is fantastic with communication and quick to respond and arrange session times that suit you. I am a bit indecisive and had trouble choosing the best backdrop (Kate has so many amazing themes and props) but Kate was so patient with me and helped me through

First thing i said on the phone was i wanted some photos of my 1 month old for fathers day gifts. Booked a time and date for photography. Squared away price. Locked in in on the phone as 9.30 Tuesday. .. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this session . She asked me to send photos that i had seen on their website which i would like recreated.… So i did I was told it was too much trouble to use those sets. I said i just wanted it to be colourful.
