I came here to get my hair colored for the first time! I can't recommend New Do or Dean enough. Dean really took the time to listen to what I wanted and delivered just that! Since I hadn't dyed my hair before, I didn't know how well my hair would take to color and when it faded a bit too fast I gave Dean a call and he offered to fix it for free. Really love the atmosphere of the place as it's not too uptight, but really homey and comfortable. I'm excited to go back for whatever I dream up next for my hair!

I have been going to Newdo for that last 8 years. Always the best cut, friendly and professional service from Janine and the team there. Could not recommend this salon enough and with the myriad of salons in Newtown they really standout. Even though I no longer live as close as I did having moved out of Sydney, I’m still getting my cut done here and worth the trip.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Paul is a good hair cutter.
Everything else is less than average.
Appointments are mismanaged.
You can't rely on their availability as scheduled.
The space is small, close and tense with an uncomfortable vibe.
Getting your hair done there is a chore rather than a pleasure.
Unprofessional.

very impressed with my stylist Paul who went out of his way to blow wave my hair and make sure my curls stayed in place in the wet and cold of a Saturday night Sydney storm!! Lovely salon, clean, professional and Paul did an awesome job. Highly recommended.

I had my first visit to New Do this afternoon and I had my hair cut by the fantastic stylist, Dean. I was after a fresh new style, as I had had the same hair cut for far too many years. Dean was fantastic! He spent time getting to know me, and getting to know my hair. I felt like I could trust him to create a new style and cut for me, and I’m so glad I did. I’m really happy with the cut and style, and Dean even spent time with me discussing how best to maintain the style.
Will definitely be returning here.

I had an appointment with Dean for a fringe trim. He was just so lovely and very interested in my person. We chatted a lot and had a good time, and in the end he even didn't want to except me paying for it. Such a cute and friendly atmosphere in the salon! You definitely can't go wrong here, and thanks Dean :)

My very favourite hairdresser 💛 I have been going to New Do for at least 10 years. I’ve got hair that can be hard to manage and I am always so well looked after. Everyone on the team is so lovely and so exceptionally skilled - I always leave feeling great - I’m always happy with my hair and always love having been in the salon with such great people. I’ve recommended to lots of friends and they’ve all been super happy too.

I looked up New Do to see what their reviews were like.... and then booked in to see Dean. I absolutely love my new hair style! They made me feel welcomed, listened to and even better, beautiful with a style I could manage at home as well. I've been back for a second cut and dye and now (for the first time ever) look forward to my visits. The vibe in the store is welcoming and the music is great too. After lots of research of places around town that do a good grey/white I came in person to show New Do my current hair and ask if it would be possible. It is naturally brunette but had been growing out a red for about a year. I know going light after red can be hard, if not impossible, so I'd recently had some pieces of blonde ombre done to the bottom to see how it took and it looked great. If it wouldn't have been possible with my current hair, I would have had no problem letting it continue to grow out.

But white is such a drastic change that I'd even bought a cheap white costume

First time customer, I booked online for a cut and semi colour. Best $200 odd dollars I have spent on my hair in years. Paul was awesome and my new do is sooooo good! If you think a new hair cut can't improve your life go and see Paul.

I've had my hair cut by Janine, Dean and Matt several times, and I allllways leave with a cut so good I feel like a bounce out of the salon! My overuse of apostrophes does not convey my enthusiasm aptly

I can't speak highly enough of this salon, and in particular the stylist Dean. He patiently talked through what I wanted with me and explained the pros and cons of my extreme colour choice. He was kind enough to fit me in for an appointment that evening and took his time to get the colour and cut just right. Dean is skilful, tactful and a master of his trade. I can't thank him enough.
