Services
In 1979, we opened our doors as a small book binding company in Surry Hills, NSW, Australia and over the subsequent decades, the business grew and moved and expanded to become Australia's largest and leading book printer. We believe in the power of collaboration and partnership to achieve uncompromising service and quality in everything we do.
Our pursuit of sustainability is long term and ongoing; and covers all of our activities throughout the organisation. With paper being our No.1 raw material, we are 100% committed to reducing the environmental impact of printed books and strive each and every day to minimise our carbon footprint. Ligare is proud to maintain our certification for both the FSC(R) and PEFC chain of custody for paper stocks in support of responsible forestry.
Ligare has a versatile and experienced prepress department able to assist with the smooth production of publications from electronic file. For a successful print run, at a high-quality standard, our preferred file format is a press ready Portable Document Format (PDF). A PDF ensures that your printed or viewed file retains the formatting that you intended.
There are various types of conventional printing to suit different requirements and at Ligare, we provide offset printing. This is a common and widely used commercial printing technique where the inked image is transferred or offset from a plate to a blanket, then onto the printing surface i.e. paper.
Our on demand and digital printing department is perfect for short run, on demand publications. Ligare Digital can work with your online ordering systems and web-fronts to make print on-demand seamless for your business. We offer fast turnaround, on demand printing for B&W and colour publications in a range of binding styles.

I recently used Ligare to print a cookbook for our school. We had a number of quotes, however Ligare were the most responsive, helpful, knowledgeable and cost effective. From
quoting, proofing, finished product, delivery we were so happy with the process and end result. The quality of product has been labelled by our community as our very own ‘Donna Hay cookbook’. Having such a great book allowed us to raise more than expected for the school.
Lastly, knowing they are Australian made & FSC certified made us very happy with our choice of printer.
