The Gingin Hotel is situated in the townsite of Gingin which is one of the oldest towns within WA, originally being a stopover for early pioneers travelling from Perth to Geraldton with the first settlers arriving in 1832.
Gingin was proclaimed a town in 1883. The railway came to Gingin in 1891 with the historic train station still existing right across from the pub. The pub is an old historic two story building with the typical charm of an old country pub. The pub has two styles of accomodation, one being hotel rooms upstairs and motel style units.

Pros - friendly staff
Cons - the food. I ordered a Parmy it was very dry and I think it was topped with the same sauce as the kids spag bog. The chips were low quality packet chips also. If ya cant do a half decent Parmy you're in trouble.
My wife ordered a Thai beef salad... It was more like a Thai beef soup. I think they just dumped the whole packet of sauce on-top of the salad with some beef. It was not edible and the opposite of a salad.
I last visited in 2015 and I remember the food was really good. This place has gone downhill, shame to see. Won't be going back.

I'm sure they had good intentions but you know they got our meal wrong twice so we ended up with extra stuff we didn't pay for. Not to mention one of them was a veggie burger but got mixed with a gingin burger that had extra meat??? Staff was friendly and looked as if they genuinely cared and great view!

The pub was quiet and we still waited 3/4 of an hour for lunch, I would have been embarrassed to serve the lasagna I ordered. It was microwaved so long it was almost like soup on my plate,
(I was reassured it would still taste great) but then must have sat while my husband’s steak was cooked as mine was barely warm when it was served. I mainly ate my hubby’s chips. The lady next to us took her Parmi back to be reheated which took forever and she gave up and left. Two guys walked in and ordered and had their meals within 15 minutes.

Went for drinks and a meal Sunday just gone and will never be going back again. Tap beer tasted as if the pipes hadn't been flushed after being cleaned and the staff didn't care. After spending nearly $90 on food from their extremely limited menu the only thing edible was the chips and shop bought squid rings. Very disappointing.
