At APHS, "Our vision is to provide a holistic approach to healthcare from injury to wellbeing". We aim to create and offer a safe space for our clients to talk, express and open up about themselves. We have been thrown into the middle of fear ridden, challenging times, and we understand some of you might be feeling anxious and over-whelmed with all that is happening around us.
Last year the Federal Government made the decision to make certain natural therapies ineligible for private health insurance rebates. Naturopathy services will not be eligible for health fund rebates after this date. There will be some changes to the branding and structure of our yoga and pilates classes, although the class content will remain much the same.
As far as our body and it's functioning is concerned there are a lot of myths that have been fed to us from an early age with the arrival of the cold winds. Do any of these actually hold true? What really goes on inside our body with drops in temperature and changes in the weather?
For some of us who suffer from arthritis will definitely agree that come winter, the pain in our joints gets worse and some of us can even predict if it's about to rain purely based on how our joints react to the change in climate.Seldom are we wrong in that aspect! But do we really know and understand what goes on within us?

We are all well aware, even though not embossed in marble, there are limits on how much food we should consume, telly we should watch and how many shoes is too many. The last one on a personal note is a complete lie! The limit does not exist! Considering that most things in life have boundaries and limits, I think it would be safe to say, the intensity you put your body through should have a limit too.
I'll start by stating the obvious, everybody loves a good massage. There is no denying it even when someone is digging their thumbs into your muscles, it feels like the good kind of pain which makes you hate and love your therapist at the same time. But when it comes to dealing with injuries, particularly recurrent injuries, passive treatment, although has its benefits, isn't really best practice management.

Went to see them as i suffer with minor scoliosis and back pain (diagnosed by 2 doctors and has been treated by 3 other physiotherapists over 20 years). Get told I don't have scoliosis (even though I have seen the xrays myself). The first and only session I had consisted of a few acupuncture needles. I understand some people may find alternative medicine works but I prefer scientifically proven treatment. Each to their own.
