Our party of 5 arrived at 1pm, ordered our meals at about 1:30. Entrees arrived 45 minutes later. Soup had to be sent back as it was cold. Mains weren’t served until after 3:40pm! Other groups were walking out who weren’t happy about the extremely slow and inattentive service. We were offered a complimentary bottle of wine, though. Having the dogs walking through the restaurant was quaint at first, but then watching one of them up on a table eating the scraps was very off-putting.

It was a cold rainy Sunday and we were put by the heater and offered a leg blanket so we were toasty warm. The staff were pleasant and we enjoyed the food. However we never received one round of drinks and our desert order was wrong, the young woman taking the order didn’t listen. The toilets aren’t for the elderly or people who aren’t steady on their feet (the ramp is slippery and the toilets were cramped portables). The view over the vineyard is lovely.

Our extended family had a marvellous Mothers Day last Sunday at Hainault winery. It was our first visit. Friendly, welcoming service in a beautiful location. We put a blanket down on the grass by our table for the kids and they loved it. It's a small family winery, so you shouldn't expect fast-food service; it's a place to linger and enjoy. There's a sensible limited menu, and the food was beautifully presented and enjoyable. Plus great wine.
