Coated stocks are smoother, and show richer, more vibrant colour. Coated paper is more resistant to dirt, moisture, and wear. It also makes the printed material to appear lustrous. That is why it is generally used in the printing of magazines, book covers, glossy photos and art books. Uncoated stocks are easy to write on and are generally what you'd select for stationery.
There are a variety of different finishes to choose from, depending on your preference, budget, and the intended purpose of your print project. De Silva Digital printing offers the following finishing processes: scoring (creasing), folding, guillotining, binding, laminating, cello glazing, perforating, padding, drilling, corner rounding, shrink wrapping and saddle stitching.
Foil stamping refers to the application of metallic material using either heat or pressure. It's certainly a luxurious printing finish, and it goes a long way to adding visual interest and texture to your printed design. Is when you raise a logo or other image to create a 3D graphic. This raised design is achieved by pushing a metal die into paper, card stock (or other chosen material) from underneath.
Plastic comb binding is one of the most popular methods of binding. The pages of comb-bound books lie flat for easy reading. The flexible plastic binding can be reopened and closed for easy updating of pages. After updating you can reuse the same binding comb. Pages can be bound up to 375 sheets of 80gsm paper enabling you to bind small or larger documents.
