With the latest equipment and well trained staffs, all dental treatments are provided in a gentle and caring environment. Dr Kin Lin started the surgery in Bendigo since 1985. Dr Kim L Dang graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2003. She was Dr Lin's associate for 9 years and is now the principal dentist at 448 Dental.
Xrays are recommended to help us complete the diagnosis. Gum disease, decay, cracked teeth, dead teeth, oral soft and hard tissue cancers, temporomandibular joint disease (i.e. the joints next to your ears), malocclusion are checked when you come for a check-up with us. The purpose of the clean is to get rid of the tartar, which is blocks of germs that cling onto your teeth so tight that you can't brush it off.
Acrylic denture: is cheaper, it is a "gum stripper". It is used when the prognosis of the rest of the teeth are not certain or when you are allergic to the materials used for the cobalt-chrome base. Cobalt chrome denture: is more expensive, stronger compared to acrylic dentures, can be made thinner and therefore, it is more comfortable to wear.
Treatments can also be provided at St John of God when your child is put to sleep by an anaesthetist. Space retainer: when the child looses her baby molars too early, a space retainer is needed to keep the space for the adult tooth underneath until it is ready to erupt. It has a ring that fits over the tooth right behind the gap, and a loop that leans against the tooth right in front of the gap.
Veneer: covers half of your tooth. You have the choice of composite veneers (white fillings that are done in chair), or porcelaine veneers (made in lab by technicians). You can see some of Dr Kim Dang's works in the album "Composite fillings" here or "Veneers" album here.
Gum graft: Recession of the gum caused by inappropriate brushing technique can lead to sensitivity, compromising aesthetics and can lead to tooth fracture, tooth death, gum and bone lost and tooth lost.With regular check-up, we can pick that up early. Gum graft can be done with tissue harvested from your palate, or Alloderm.

My 5 year old had two teeth knocked out and one broken in a playground accident. I rang Kim, and she opened her surgery up at 8pm to see us straight away. She was excellent with him, very calm and reassuring. The broken tooth needed to be pulled, and it was done with no fuss or pain. Can't recommend Kim highly enough!

Been coming to Kim for years, and she has always been very gentle, reassuring and lovely to be with. Stacey, her assistant is especially friendly and helpful, whilst being professional at all times. Reassuring that they strictly adhere to Covid regulations at this time.
