Services
Visit Mount Dutton Bay Woolshed museum - The recently restored and heritage listed jetty and woolshed date back to the era when ketches (small boats) serviced the area to bring provisions and take away wheat and wool from the farmers. The woolshed, built by Price Maurice in 1875, provided warehouse space for these provisions from 1880 to 1945 Wool was shipped to Adelaide from Mount Dutton bay.
Southern Ocean Lookout is a very comfortable holiday house with quality mattresses and air conditioning in all bedrooms to provide you with a good nights rest. This bedroom overlooks sea views, has a comfortable queen sized bed, ceiling fan and reverse cycle air-conditioning. This bedroom also overlooks sea views, and has a comfortable queen sized bed, ceiling fan and reverse cycle air-conditioning.
The Lookout was built in 2001, with an extensive renovation in 2016. The room on the upper level is a large open plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen features a 4 burner gas stove with oven and grill, large fridge freezer, microwave and a dishwasher. It has a wood fire, reverse cycle heating/cooling, and evaporative air conditioning.
Farm Beach is 6 km away, in the warmer months this beach is very popular. A temporary concrete and timber ramp installed in spring and provides easy access to a wide and firm beach. A steep drop-off makes it ideal for launching boats. Little Douglas is 10 km away, situated about 4 km south of Farm Beach.
You won't find a huge H painted on the ground but Southern Ocean Lookout has ample space to park a fleet of helicopters very close to the house. The scenery in the area is spectacular from the ground, but from the sky it is simply unbelievable. The emerald green of the clear water over the pure white sand is stunning.

A stunning and beautiful location. Absolutely amazing views of the Dutton bay, with kangaroo's, emus and wild life right in front of the house. We had wonderful time sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset. Just beautiful time spent creating some very incredible memories to cherish for life. The house was very well maintained, with variety of boardgames, music, coffee machine etc at the property. Heating is great with wood fire and A/C. Owners provided a great service in looking after. A must place to stay to experience it! Highly recommend.

Situated in the most fabulous bush setting, complete with kangaroos and an abundance of wildlife, this place has stunning views across Mount Dutton Bay. It has absolutely everything you could possibly need - the level 1 verandah is the place to be to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the sunset over the Bay! We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and looking forward to making plans to come back here again!!

We had a beautiful stay at Southern Ocean Lookout in March. The house has a gorgeous wrap around verandah with views of the water and mountains, a fireplace, modern kitchen equipped with everything we needed and comfortable rooms and beds. The property is well situated - close to farm beach and coffin bay national park. There are some excellent bush walks and trail runs nearby. We were lucky enough to go fishing, sand duning, and swim with dolphins and seals. The hosts are welcoming and very hospitable, as well as so knowledgeable about the area and local recreational activities. A relaxing and

Just spent a lovely long easter weekend at Southern Ocean Lookout with a group of friends. We had a great time swimming, fishing and exploring the area including Coffin Bay National Park nearby. The house is well situated on large acreage just a short drive from Coffin Bay with spectacular sweeping views across the bay and surrounding countryside. The house is also well equiped with everything we needed including a fully appointed kitchen with a dishwasher, a laundry on the lower level, two bathrooms and a large balcony which was a perfect spot for having a drink while watching the sunset. Highly
