The business originally operated from home in Clayton but soon grew, requiring larger premises. It moved into the first Factory/ Showroom in Westall Road, Westall and then onto Centre Road Clayton. To accommodate the continual growth, a factory was built in 1984 at 1 Olive Street Clayton, where it remains today as the home of A1 Blinds.
During the late 80s, sons Peter and John assumed the ownership and running of the business. In 1992 John left the business leaving Peter as the sole owner. The next few years saw a directional change. Moving away from being both a wholesale and retailer to just a retailer. Peter, very focused on customer service, identified that customers wanted improved times for quotes, manufacturing and installation.

Excellent very professional company to deal with,and I was very happy with the service I received.The person who came out to give me the quote was very friendy,as were the office staff and the two servicemen who came to install my blind.The servicemen even took time to explain to me how to operate the blind,and gave me a booklet on maintenance and care.I would have no hesitation in recommending A1 blinds to anyone. I probably will have another outdoor blind installed in the future,and I will use this company again without getting other quotes.

We used A1 blinds many years ago for outside blinds and when we were renovating we went straight to A1 blinds.
We were extremely happy with A1 Blinds who genuinely cared for the look I wanted and the salesperson came around during the renovations. We ordered indoor and outdoor blinds.
Inside roller blinds and blockout that were reversed with the blockout against the window and the sheers facing in.
The outside blinds are a little see through and really finish the exterior of the house.
Would highly recommend A1 Blinds for all blinds.

Very happy with my canvas blinds, Dale provided a measure and quote for a a bay window outside canvas blind and internal blinds. Very happy with the advice and personal service. All through the lockdown A1 blinds provided updated installation dates. Installation by Nathan and Brent was very professional with no disruption.

We're very happy with the ziptrack blind installed by A1. It looks good and definitely cuts the late afternoon glare and heat substantially in our small west-facing al fresco area. We appreciated the advice from Debbie when she came to quote which helped us decide on the best product and colour. Installation was smooth and everyone we dealt with at A1 was courteous and efficient.

We are extremely happy with A1 Blinds who genuinely care for their customers. Our blinds were ordered in between lockdowns and the company remained in touch during those times to keep us up to date, with the completed articles being installed a couple of days after the restrictions changed enabling them doing so. Fantastic service and competitive price. We had Sam who installed the sun and blockout blinds for our place and he was very friendly and efficient. Communication was great throughout. A1 gave a quote with 20% discount which was cheaper than the blind factory who claimed they had already given me a 40%. The lifetime warranty also gives peace of mind in case anything breaks. Would highly recommend.
