Services
Our Podiatrists in Townsville, Hayley Paterson and Chris Weber are here to keep you moving! With 16+ years' experience each we are leaders in our field of Biomechanical/ Musculoskeletal Podiatry. At Foundation Podiatry your Initial Biomechanical Assessment will start with a medical, occupational and exercise history.
At Foundation Podiatry Townsville we undertake a detailed Initial Biomechanical Assessment. Rather than just treating the symptoms, we do a thorough initial assessment to get to know your story so that we can get to the bottom of your concern. Your treatment is then tailored individually to you. We will ask you lots of questions.
Extracorpeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a relatively new treatment modality used to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain. Foundation Podiatry in Townsville employ the Swiss Dolorclast ESWT, the industry leader for Shockwave Therapy.
Shockwave therapy is recommended for chronic soft tissue injuries, particularly those that have not responded to typical conservative treatment (ice, heat, stretching, strengthening, massage, supportive footwear, orthotics etc).Persistent plantar fasciitis (heel pain) and chronic achilles tendon pain are the most well-researched and the most commonly treated conditions with shockwave therapy.

There are many treatments available for treating musculo-skeletal pain (some examples are deep tissue massage, cortisone injections, PRP, shockwave therapy, medical laser therapy). Medical Acupuncture is yet another treatment option, and it provides an effective and often less painful form of treating musculo-skeletal pain.
These structures need to work as a well-oiled team to carry us for endless steps day in, day out. Think of your feet as SPRINGS for your body. Feet are designed to firstly cushion on ground contact and then rebound off the ground during propulsion. Mobile adaptor - rigid lever. Therefore the cushioning foot should be soft and flexible and the propulsive foot should be strong and powerful.

I was having awful pain in my feet from the most simple movement and walking. It was suggested by my Physiotherapist that I consult a Podiatrist. I chose Foundation Podiatry because they were close. However not long after my visit and being fitted with orthotics, the pain in my feet started to ease to a point where it has gone away completely. I now regularly go to the gym, walk and jog and still have no further paid. I could not do these things without a lot of ongoing pain before my visit. I go back every year and Hayley checks that everything is performing as it should be.

I booked in with Foundation Podiatry within days of experiencing a flare up of my plantar fasciitis. I experienced careful and thorough assessment, tailored advice and treatment and instead of taking months to recover, the pain got better and better and was gone within 2 months. I can’t recommend their staff highly enough and can only encourage everybody to please do not put off seeing a podiatrist but do it early when you’re experiencing issues. You’ll recover sooo much faster! Thanks for all the care Chris!

My story is a "Success Story" I injured my ankle when squatting at a shop.
I had a high level of pain, I strapped my ankle and tried to manage the pain. After about 5 weeks, it was affecting my daily routine, I couldn't function at work.
A friend suggested I see Hayley at Foundation Podiatry. I went there and Hayley provided the instructions on how to help myself, (what to do and not what to do), This lady knows her stuff. She was able to manage my pain and repair my cranky tendon and head me down the road to recovery.
Hayley is very knowledgeable, down to earth and a genuinely lovely person
