Remedial Building Works refers to the specialised type of rectification and corrective actions for buildings with defects, particularly involving significant structural and/or water ingress issues.
The proper and effective rectification of structural issues (which are often caused by water ingress and ongoing exposure to excessive moisture) is of paramount importance, as the structural integrity, stability, and possibly safety, of the building, or certain part of the building, such as a balcony, may be compromised and deteriorating.

The operation and appearance of windows and doors, whether of timber construction, or aluminium-framed, tend to deteriorate with age and exposure to external elements. Furthermore, one of the most common areas of concern is water ingress into the building, via poor weatherproofing and sealing between the window or door frame interfaces at the wall openings, which tend to lead to water damage and excessive moisture issues.
The main function of the faade of a building is to provide protection from external elements, including being weatherproof and dustproof, as well as to enhance the aesthetics of the building. However, deterioration of the faade may occur over time, due to factors such as building movement and settling (causing cracking), inadequate weatherproofing/waterproofing, poor flashings or sealants, corrosion and efflorescence.
Where issues such as cracking, sagging or instability are found, it tends to indicate that there are underlying structural problems, that would need to be addressed. Deterioration of the existing supporting structure, including cracking or corrosion of steel beams and columns, or of the brickwork or reinforced concrete, which may affect the structural integrity of the building.

Our new home construction was extremely complex and technical because of the sloping cliff face, rock and tight access. I had severe water damage to my bathroom floor and bedroom, Elvis gave me a very fair estimate for the remedial work that needed to be done. He has managed to fix the problem despite other builders saying it was near impossible. My floors look amazing, the tile work and paint match is perfect, you cant tell there was any damage at all and now my bathroom looks 10 times better! Thanks Mardini Constructions
