Mediation is a way of settling a dispute without having to going to court. Whether it's a formal Family Dispute Resolution (also known as Family Law Mediation) process or Workplace Mediation, disputing parties identify issues of concern and explore them together with the assistance of a neutral third party (the Mediator).

This involves a process of making proposals or coming up with possible solutions, reality testing them and choosing a solution both parties can live with. We all face challenges in life. Mostly we're able to sort things out ourselves but there are times when we need a little help. Pre-Marriage Counselling Cairns helps partners understand their own and each other's needs and expectations.

I was referred through our company's EAP service. I had a phone appointment with Melinda within 24 hours. She was fantastic and so incredibly supportive. Melinda than referred me to Alex as I needed advice in a specific area. Alex was just as wonderful. He gave me so much valuable business advice and went above and beyond and also had me laughing with his wonderful sense of humor. I highly recommend both Melinda and Alex.

We werenot sure what to expect because we had never done marriage counselling before. we ended up going back about 4 times and going through more issues than we expected. melinda can be quite direct, but it did allow us to hold a mirror and keep moving through things. Would highly recommend to others. Alex is really helpful too in organising things.

Alex was lovely. As for Melinda. There is no impartiality. She picks a side and the other person becomes the target. She is judgemental and cant tell the truth from lies. She also uses personal opinions and arrogance in her discussions. And has zero empathy for anyones situation. Its just
a job to her. Absolute waste of time going to a counsellor and leaving feeling worse than when your walked in. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

A friend and I recently had occasion to use Alex and his service and cannot recommend Northern Frontiers Mediation more highly. From the time I first made contact with the office, Alex could not have been more helpful. Information was provided quickly and when it was necessary to change appointments at short notice, this was also easily sorted and with understanding. Not that I want to have to use this type of service again but if I do need to, I would definitely go back to Alex.

DEPLORABLE conduct is the best way to describe my experience with Northern Frontiers Mediation. I was uncomfortable with the process and engaged my lawyer to be present with me which is completely allowed, the mediator Melinda Bailey threw what I can only describe as a tantrum, told us the other party terminated the session and ended the call, then later stated in an email she terminated the session showing bias to the other party by not allowing either of us to participate and issued a false and misleading S60I certificate.
I have requested a refund less the amount of admin fees as the termination

Disappointing! By the third interaction Melinda was still not sure of my wifes name. Seems to follow a generic text book approach not necessarily based on the individuals circumstance or informatiom provided.

My experience at Northern Frontiers has turned my life around. I was stressed and unhappy with my situation at work and a friend had recommended Melinda for counselling, both personal and work related. Her patience and insight over a couple of sessions has helped me cope with a difficult time. Thank you to the team . . I am really grateful.

What I liked about this service was their way of making you feel important. Like the time I rang to check my appointment details and I was welcomed with, “Hi Harry, how can I help you?” Great stuff!
