I love working with families to create images which reflect who their individual and family personalities are. Every family is unique, and your family portraits should reflect this. I like to begin by exploring your favourite things: places, colours, hobbies, music, and what you all enjoy doing together as a family.
My favourite thing to do is to photograph people in amoungst the natural surroundings we are so lucky to have in Tassie. I become quite obsessed with looking for perfect locations which have beautiful or interesting textures, colours, shapes or lines. These places may be sandstone rock ledges at the beach, autumn foliage, old wooden sheds, or long grassy fields.
What should I wear? Simple plain coloured clothing without logos work best, as these distract the attention away from your awesome faces. Also, when being photographed in a group it is good to coordinate by picking a colour scheme such as everyone wearing white shirts and navy jeans or skirts. Try to avoid some people wearing white and others in black as the contrast between the two can also be a distraction.
