Avoca Auto was started by Norm over 30 years ago in the heart of Randwick, and is now a Father-Son duo with Norm and Rabih. They relocated to Avoca Street to meet growing demand and need for space in the new workshop, and now have the space to service their loyal and growing client base as a Randwick mechanic and tyre shop all in one place.
It's important to keep up with your car's regular servicing as it will save you money in the long run by identifying any problems early and having your oil changed regularly, it also ensures you won't have any problem claiming on insurance if you are up to date with servicing. This doesn't have to be done at your dealer and can often be smoother and more economical to do it at with a mechanic like Avoca Auto.
An e-Safety check (otherwise known as a Pink Slip) verifies that your vehicle is safe and ready for the road so that you can register your car in NSW. When your vehicle passes the inspection, our mechanic will send the report electronically to Transport for NSW so that you can complete your vehicle registration.
Whether you have an issue with your brakes or you need a routine check, our friendly, experienced mechanics will conduct a complete inspection of your brake system. We will let you know the details of any deficiencies before we undertake any work. We like to keep you fully informed and made aware of the condition of your car at all times.

Had my pink slip (esafety check) done here after being recommended by a friend. Very pleased with the service. The team took photos showing me some of the elements that they replaced, and that would soon need replacing to show the wear and tear on them, and explained why replacing them was required. Would recommend

Both of my cars have been in with Avoca, for slips and services. Every time they deliver honest advice, great value and even better, they clean my car. They even give back to the community. Whilst there last week a local health worker came by and thanked them for replacing her tyres, for free.
Garages in eastern Sydney get a bad rep, but these guys really do look after their customers.

Vehicle went in for a Rego (pink slip) check.
Check was not carried out and was verbally told car will fail due to brake pads that require immediate attention (false and inaccurate information). Not to mention a vehicle cannot fail a rego check based on this.
When asked about the quote given ($850 for brake pad replacement is astronomical and ridiculous) an explanation could not be given. A reason for fail could not physically be given and they could not show me what rule it would have failed on (because it doesn’t exist).
I feel this workshop had taken advantage of the fact the family member
