The views are amazing. Host is very friendly.
Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy the stay. Room was very dirty. Dust on the table curtains side tables and everywhere. We had to clean the toilet commode by ourselves. Napkin kept on the room was not a fresh one and smelly, so disgusting. Wifi is very very slow. I believe these are basic things management should look in to.

Food (breakfast and dinner) was really good but the main house needs some update, maintenance, and better cleaning. It seems that the place is prepared for winter (heaters) but not for summer (no fans or a/c; open windows not enough to keep rooms at decent temperatures, and might attract insects-maybe adapt fly screens). The bathroom was like a dry sauna, no ventilation. Even the outdoors would benefit from some tidying up to keep tracks walkable and more enjoyable even if still wild. There was a very nice view from the master bedroom.

This is fabulous - far more than accommodation and dining (which is superb), Hawley House is a joyous experience, taking you back to a place elusive, serene and restful, tranquil and rejuvenating. And be sure to take the bush track alongside the shoreline out north for a morning invigorator - watch out for the potoroos!

Had a fabulous one night stay at Hawley House. The grounds are stunning and the upstairs room we had provided wonderful views. We were also treated a a three course meal which was absolutely delicious (possibly the best veg pie I’ve ever had) and VERY generous. Portions were huge but I just wanted to keep eating! I was a little worried about the dogs/noise after reading some of the other reviews but the owner’s animals were very sweet and well-behaved. Sophie took great care of us!

Hawley house is truly unique, it is a most interesting historic building, in a superb setting - over the road from a beautiful dog friendly beach and the gardens comprise of acres of interesting plants, ponds, statues (where you would least expect them) and a quaint old chapel and that is just the front garden. The stables, where we stayed are dog friendly (actually the whole property is dog heaven), the rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped and at the same time they are quirky. We felt rather grand having drinks in the drawing room (a treasure trove of beautiful furniture

Excellent experience, iconic property.
This place will stay vivid in your memory for all the right reasons - the property, the rooms, the amazing beach right across the road, the food, the charming host Sophie, and for me most of all - her gentle dogs. Impeccably mannered, they lounge about quietly, content with their lot - and who can blame them. Hawley House is amazing.

Stayed there for 2 nights. Pros: It is certainly Picturesque and scenic. The host is responsive. Also the food is delicious.
Cons:There are many large unleashed dogs on the property. One of them kept barking at me and almost attacked me. That was a terrible experience. There is also a lot of dog/bird droppings in the graveled area between the house and the car park. Some of it got onto my swayed shoes which was disgusting.
