We stayed in this motel on the 22 March 2021. I don't think I have stayed in a worse place. When we booked we asked for a quiet room. We were told by reception that all rooms were quiet. But, across the park from our room is the A1 highway and all we heard all night was trucks and more trucks. The room was dingy so we turned on a row of LED spot lights. One of the lights was blinking, which I can't stand. This light therefore could not be used. I then went to use the bathroom and found the sliding door was swinging in the breeze. I can't comment on the stay as we were literally turned away by the man on reception. We are a quiet mature couple driving on a road trip in our van. We wanted one night stay in comfort, however we mentioned we had an old dog with us but he stays in the van which we were going to leave in the street not on the premises. He is deaf and doesn't bark but we were told in no uncertain terms they had a shift nurse staying and he himself was a light sleeper and for us to be prepared if the dog did bark we could expect to pay an addition night rate . Beautifully maintained olde r property that has been renovated and is lovely. Like most older motels, it has small rooms with the basic amenities, but is comfortable, fresh and very clean. The Queen sized bed was comfortable and it was a lovely quiet spot to recuperate after a day on the road. Very good value for the price paid and obviously loved by the owners. Grounds surrounding the motel are immaculate and there is a small park across the road easy to find with free parking outside your door. Staff are pleasant and welcoming.
