Tooth pain can feel excruciating if not cared for right away. Patients may often pass it off at the first twinges of sharp pain, but depending on the type of ailment, this pain can escalate. Here we'll take a look at the types of dental problems you may be experiencing, how we might treat them, and what to do if you're experiencing a dental emergency and need to see us as soon as possible.
If you have a cavity or decayed tooth that is causing you severe pain, perhaps it may have gone beyond the point where simple fillings could do the job. In order to save the tooth, you may require a root canal treatment. Root canal has a bad rap because people mistakenly associate it with extreme pain.
If you have teeth that are chipped, cracked, or damaged by decay, you may need fillings to restore functionality and prevent further damage. You may not be able to see all the cavities on your own in the mirror, some may to be too small and can be found only during a dental examination. At Pickup Bagshaw Dental, we examine your teeth during regular check-up, dental cleaning, or any other procedure to see if there are any teeth that need fillings.
Here are a few suggestions and general guidelines on how you may want to handle common dental injuries and discomforts, and to assess whether you may require emergency dental services. If you have a sudden and severe toothache, call our emergency dentist right away. Some discomfort and pain may be okay, and could wait till the next day, but if the toothache is intense, you must try and get to the clinic as soon as possible.

I've had a lot of bad experiences with dentists in the past. Pain, complications etc. But Pickup Bagshaw have actually completely reversed my rhinking....and fear. Dr Thomas is an absolute legend. Not only is she incredibly professional but she is also an artist....she did three fillings for me in around one hour. One of the fillings was a half broken off front tooth that she fixed, reshaped and colour matched! I feel brand new again and had no pain or fear. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

I was very impressed with the service and efficency of this dental practice. I haven't been to a dentist in a long time so I was a little nervous and straight away I was put at ease and made to laugh which I appreciated. Not only that but each process was explained to me so I understood what was being done.

Positive experience starts from the minute you walk in the door. Reception staff are always very friendly and efficient. Always in the chair on time or even prior to appointment time. Dr Bagshaw is always happy to explain what is happening at an appropriate level of understanding. Dental assistants also always very friendly. Overall, a positive experience.

Thank you Dr Thomasand for fixing my tooth today. I have always been scared of the Dentist and they both made me feel very safe in her care. This is the first time I’ve ever been to the Dentist and not had any pain afterwards, and the tooth they fixed- you wouldn’t even know it had broke in the first place! A wonderful team that I highly recommend.
