Quiet pub on the main drag. Friendly local service.
Burgers well done - even down to the chips. We'll salted chips which is an artform. Would be nice if they came with aoilo though.
Wont hesitate to visit again!

Great pub now it has had a change of management! Staff friendly & helpful, beer cold, food really enjoyable, TAB area rocking & toilets fresh and clean! Well worth the stop in for a coldie if not more!👍🍻🤗

Went the other night with friends before the amateur theatre, the food is fantastic and the staff are friendly and happy.
There's a certain old school ambience, and that's very nice.
I will be going again.
I highly recommend it 👌

Would not eat here again! The food was awful. Very expensive for what was called Mt Barker steak which was covered in so much thick sauce, frozen vegetables and a so called mash.

Had dinner and drinks here 2 nites in a row, did try to go to the other pub, but the food at Plantagent is amazing for pub meals.
We had the slow pork ribs, scotch with the best pepper sauce, fish n chips, chicken parmi. All meals where delicious and nicely cooked. Pub atmosphere was warm, and loved the open fireplace.
We will be back hiking soon just so we can eat here.

We went in for lunch on the way through Mt Barker. We had a special scotch steak. The steak was alright but the garlic sauce was not pleasant. Hint have your chef make the sauce. Would go again.

Great old country pub with a bottle shop attached. The beer was great and the main room was very comfortable with a roaring fire in winter. All meals were exceptionally good value with most meals under $20! My sister and myself ordered the $25 steak one with mushroom and one with garlic sauce, both were absolutely delicious. The service was also exceptional.

Definitely the better pub of the two in this town. There is actually a modicum of character and comfort here. Big sofas by the fire and outdoor patio. It is still a typical sort of Aussie sports bar. Great food and decent prices with nice wait staff.
