Services
From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, illness is caused when the Yin and Yang balance within the body is lost. Generally speaking, functional activities pertain to Yang and nutrients in the blood pertain to Yin. When Yin and Yang are in balance, the human body is healthy. Many things can upset this balance - such as changing weather conditions, upsetting emotions, stress, poor diet, trauma, inadequate or excessive exercise.
Health by Chinese Medicine offers a range of treatments using a combination of acupuncture, cupping and herbal treatment tailored to your individual needs. If none of the treatments below seem to address your health concern, please call us or submit an enquiry online to discuss how traditional Chinese medicine can help you.
With a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, majoring in Gynaecology, Dr Miranda has a particular interest in women's health - from infertility to PCOS and menopause related issues. Many health practitioners may recommend acupuncture as an adjunct treatment that may assist with infertility and IVF treatments.
Acupuncture is not painful since the needles are very thin and delicate. Having had over 30 years of experience, Dr Miranda has mastered the skill of needle insertion with minimal discomfort. Following treatment, patients will likely feel re-energised and relaxed. While Chinese Medicine is currently not covered by Medicare, patients can claim rebate from their private health insurers.

I have been seeing Jay for only four or five sessions, and I'm relatively new to acupuncture. I have been really impressed with his ability to explain the process, describe what he's noticing, be clear about the treatment plan, and be very mindful of physical comfort including being explicit about consent when placing needles for example in my chest.
I wish all medical practitioners had the demeanour of Jay.
I highly recommend him particularly for individuals who might feel uncomfortable with medical practitioners in general. Because he's professional and welcoming.

I honestly couldn't rave any more about the treatments I have been receiving from Jay. Upon every visit, regardless of my ailments or concerns; I have left feeling exceptional. I frequently saw another acupuncturist in the city that is also incredibly knowledgeable in Chinese medicine and passionate in their skill and care for me as a patient. However; scheduling conflicts brought me to Jay and I couldn't be happier. I will absolutely continue to have weekly treatments with Jay as I have noticed tremendous change in my overall health and well being and mental clarity.
