Yogasphere
Even though I tend to be a glass half full kind of person, I really detest the sentiment of pretence when it comes to positive thinking. Particularly when it's dressed up as spirituality. When I first started practising Yoga consistently, more than 25 years ago, I was also a total gym junkie and had been.

Twisting Dragon Fly Posture is an advanced pose that is more about trunk flexibility than strength. Offering yoga Nelson Bay and Port Stephens area. Yogasphere is the leading yoga studio in the Nelson Bay area. Whether a beginner or regular yoga enthusiast, Yogasphere can help you improve your health and wellbeing.
Services
Generally, long-term transformation begins with one conscious decision that turns into a positive habit. It's often that one thing we stick with; that one thing we make time for, that results in a complete rewiring of our unconscious patterning. As a consequence of that one thing, change happens. Becaue of those changes, we then start to see organic shifts in other aspects of our existence.
As you probably know, all Yoga classes are different and some just feel too hard on the average, tight-hipped 21st century body, while others may leave us feeling like we've done nothing! More than 25 years of teaching, practising and learning later, I've developed an energy-based, flowing style that's dynamic, and warming, yet completely accessible (for most people).
Our accessible, energy-flow Yoga sequences are carefully designed so that every posture and exercise (vinyasa) prepares the muscles / physiology for the next posture or exercise. Committing to a Yoga course means you'll enjoy a massive lifestyle shift.

Not only will you improve focus, strength, flexibility, range of movement and balance, you will become more aware of issues related to posture and tension and thus better able to manage related problems. It's important to remember that, as the operating system of our whole being, the health of the nervous system is absolutely vital if we are to stay fit, healthy, well and viable for as long as we might be alive.
We can organise a Yoga retreat style program for you and your friends, family or colleagues if you are visiting Port Stephens. We can also organise massages, beauty treatments and accommodation for you in the local area. Your Yoga / relaxation retreat might involve some paddle boarding or a surf lesson for your group.
It might interest you to know that we are continuing to offer one live, online Yoga session per week via YouTube on a Tuesday morning (9.45am). These online sessions run as a course and generally with the school term.

However, the live online class is also recorded which means you can do it with me if it's convenient, but either way, you will have access to the class for an entire week so you can practise it as many times as you like within that time frame! You can check out my YouTube channel and subscribe here.

I love Nikki's Down to earth, practical and safe teaching style. She always takes the time to provide variations of the pose to suit various ability/ flexibility levels. As a bonus, the yoga space is comfortable and relaxed.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of joining a class at Yogasphere while holidaying at Anna Bay. Well, what a surprise to find such a gorgeous space. I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming group of participants. Nikki Shilling guided the class through the poses insuring everyone felt relaxed and capable at the level they felt confident with. Her instruction was clear and reassuring providing opportunities to challenge yourself if you wished. Looking forward to a return trip to share the pleasure of this yoga practice. Brett

Nikki’s yoga classes are the best I’ve ever come across. She is able to explain how and why each of the poses and vinyasa’s work to strengthen the body, and relieve the ailments we all suffer from day to day living. I love that the classes are for all stages of flexibility & experience, and there are always a few jokes to keep it lighthearted and relaxed.

I started doing yoga with Nikki as I was suffering with back pain which no amount of medication could fix. I could not believe the relief it gave me with the added benefit of improving my flexibility and balance. Nikki's classes allow you to work at your own level of ability. Life for me at the time was very much travelling in the fast lane, yoga gave me an opportunity to both slow down my mind and body and to focus on the present. Now retired, I have increased the days I do my yoga practice and continue to reap the benefits of a healthy mind and body.

My sister and I attended a private session with Nikki. We were looking for some help dealing with an upsetting medical diagnosis and ways to calm our bodies and minds. Nikki was so helpful in providing strategies and methods to help us both. She was gentle and warm. Her help has been instrumental in helping us to connect body and mind. I can not recommend her enough. Thank you Nikki.

Nikki's classes are accessible to everybody. Her understanding of movement and muscle mechanics means that anyone in her class- from beginner to expert- teenagers to seniors- will reap physical benefits.
Nikki also has a pragmatic approach to yoga philosophy and lifestyle awareness; recognising habitual movement patterns and how they affect us on a psychological level as well as in the body.

I started yoga with Nikki 9 years ago after the birth of my second child. I wanted to learn to make time for myself, feel balanced and to learn strategies to manage stressful situations. Yoga is great for all of this. Within a few weeks i was hooked! i was feeling calm and fabulous. Nikki has an easy to follow approach, her instructions are straight forward and the classes are enjoyable. That's why i keep coming back time after time.

If you have never tried Yoga before this is the place to go...
Nikki has a great yoga studio in Port Stephens. She clearly knows what she is doing and makes everyone feel relaxed and welcome beginners and more advanced students. She also ensures that every pose is done correctly. With her help that is easy to achieve. Yoga is great for body and mind and I am glad I have found such a great studio with an awesome teacher !

I’ve been coming to yoga classes with Nikki since moving to the bay two years ago. Having no previous experience with yoga, I was a little nervous when I stepped outside my comfort zone and came along to my first class. Thankfully, I immediately felt at ease when I entered. I’ve had a keen interest to learn about yoga for some time and I found Yogasphere to be the perfect fit for me. The room is warm and inviting and Nikki is a welcoming teacher who will explain the importance of posture in the poses and the philosophies behind the breath work. She provides further add-ons to poses to extend
