Services
Andrew graduated from QUT in 1979. After working in other practices for four years he established his own practice here in Beenleigh in 1983. Andrew is interested in all areas of general optometric practice although his main areas of interest are gas permeable contact lenses and ocular disease. Andrew believes in providing a high standard of service and ethics within his practice.
At Andrew Knights Optometrists, all eye examinations are scheduled on the half hour, and even longer for diabetes retina examinations, where drops are required to dilate you pupils for a comprehensive look at the tiny blood vessels at the back of your eyes. Does your regular optometrist have access to the latest technology for examining the health of your eyes, or are they more interested in selling you new glasses whether you want them or not?
If you have diabetes, (insulin dependent) or if you take tablets or are just diet controlled, you should be undergoing an annual examination of your eyes. Our optometrists will carefully examine your retinas including the optic nerves, maculae and the tiny blood vessels for any changes that could potentially affect your vision.
What are the signs of primary open angle glaucoma? Well, the truth is, until very late in the disease process, there are none. This is why it is essential for everyone to have a comprehensive eye examination at least every two years. Eye examination fees are covered by Medicare in most instances and your optometrist is trained to detect the changes in appearance of the optic nerve that are indicative of primary open angle glaucoma.
Our office staff will contact you back and arrange a suitable time for your examination with one of our optometrists. If you require a diabetes retina review, you should expect your pupils to be dilated and you should bring sunglasses and make an arrangement for someone else to drive you, or be prepared to delay driving until your pupils have returned to normal.

Didn’t make any purchase, but entered briefly to make inquiry and was impressed by staff demeanour and friendliness.

I have been going to this store for years. Today , I had my eyes tested and the change in my eyes were not drastic enough to warrant my need to have new lenses just yet. I thought I would take up their offer of 50% off their frames, but was told that I couldn't have them half price without having lenses put in. (even though I would have the store put them in when necessary)...Bad form

I gave them 4 stars. Great optometrist. Only issue was 2 pairs of Glasses exactly the same done in two different locations. One pair took 7 days the other 14. So I deduced 1 star for the inconvenience of having to visit twice

This is actually for the Capalaba store. but I couldn't find it on google...
Staff were excellent. The optometrist managed to sort out the perfect prescription, whereas the optical warehouse could not (they sent me to a very expensive specialist appointment as they could not get rid of my double vision).
Price of the glasses with lenses was well under what I thought I would have had to pay and only took a couple of days to arrive.
