Contemporary dance is about expressing emotion through movements and unrestricted lines, incorporating elements of Lyrical, Jazz, Ballet and Modern dance. Contemporary is an exciting fusion which allows students to work through emotional routines. Lyrical Classes - not unlike contemporary, is a style of dance created by merging ballet and Jazz.
A Jazz class starts with warm ups, moving into stretches including floor stretch then move on to progressions across the floor such as turns and kicks, finishing off with a fun dance routine which continues each week building up to a full dance piece which can be performed at our mid year cabaret or end of year production.
Our Kinder Ballet Twinkles for 3-4-year-olds and our Kinder Ballet Sparkles for 4-5-year-olds are lovely dance classes, introducing children to classical ballet and jazz. These classes improve rhythm, motor skills, poise, whilst encouraging imagination, manners, and building confidence as well as their love for dance.
