Rise is the product of a husband and wife team, Simon and Stephanie. We have a vision to create a health and lifestyle company that aspires to provide the most effective, holistic and high-quality therapies and exercise prescription to help our clients get the most out of their bodies and their lives.
Our ethos is to live life to the full through gaining the most from our physicality; we promote healthfullness because we believe feeling fit, energetic, confident and at ease with our bodies is a privilege that deserves effort to maintain. Both of us have used physiotherapy, pilates and massage to help us acheive certain life goals and bounce back from injury and ill health.

Services
Here at RISE we have a passion for exercise and sports, with a particular focus on the rock climbing and endurance running communities due to our location and contacts. With our setting in the Rise Pilates Studio we also have a real passion for bringing up lower levels of fitness and confidence, from pre and post-natal rehabilitation and returning to running and fitness post pregnancy, so rebuilding peoples' strength and capacity after surgery.
Osteopathy is a health care model primarily used for the care of musculoskeletal health. Although often thought of as an "alternative" to medical care Osteopaths are increasingly employed, and referred to, by the NHS for patients in pain, as we are recognised as specialists in dealing with pain.
An Osteopath will use a detailed case history, thorough anatomical understanding and the patients knowledge of their own body alongside manual palpation (touch) and orthopaedic testing to diagnose conditions of the nerves, muscles or joints.

Rise Pilates Bristol has chosen to base its pilates principles around the STOTT PILATES approach. STOTT PILATES incorporates modern exercise principles and applies practices in biomechanics, athletic performance enhancement and rehabilitation. The exercises are designed to restore the natural curvature of the spine and to strengthen and rebalance the muscles surrounding the joints.
Before training as a Physiotherapist, Simon Carley-Smith worked as an SPA climbing instructor and ran an outdoor adventure company in Polzeath, North Cornwall. Climbing and ski mountaineering are some of his greatest passions and it was only natural that his Physiotherapy would end up specialising in these sports.
Bookings can be made over the phone but are only confirmed when you have paid online. If you have any questions about services or alternative requests please don't hesitate to drop us an email or call us to discuss your needs. At our discretion any cancellations made within 48hrs will be charged at the full session price.

As a runner and tennis player in my 60s I often get injuries to knees, shoulders and hands. Simon has always come up with an insightful and considered evaluation, has proposed a well articulated rehabilitation plan, and very useful follow up assessments. Physiotherapy for sports injuries doesn’t get better than this, and keeps me fit and active.

I arranged a physio session with you after having a very frustrating experience with a local chain of chiropractors and I just wanted to send you an email singing the praises of George Williams.
I have recent started running again and wanted a check up before increasing the miles I run so booked in with a chiropractor. I had an introductory session with them, then an online consultation, then a follow up session where they explained what programme they would recommend. At each stage they gave me the hard sell which really put me off. They estimated the cost of their treatment would be £720. All

I went in with a finger injury, and came out motivated, inspired and with a new approach to climbing and the way I train.
I assumed that there would only be one result from our appointment and that it would be ‘stop climbing for x amount of time until your finger feels better’ but I was actually introduced to a whole new aspect to climbing that wasn’t climbing to my limit six days a week - of course we all know this is a terrible idea, but Simons ability to not only articulate why it’s a terrible idea, but to explain the benefits of other exercises and introduce you to other ways you can

Went with a wrist injury from climbing. They were very knowledgeable, the appointment wasn't rushed and were very interested in helping find out what might be the issue. Thanks to their help I've got my wrist back to full strength. Would highly recommend Rise to anyone, they are the best physios I've been to in Bristol.

If you're in Bristol and need treatment, Simon is the man to see. Simon is extremely knowledgeable and considers your needs, goals, skill level, knowledge, etc. to provide the most suitable treatment. He was extremely efficient - I only needed the one session and I was back climbing within a couple of weeks! He gave me the knowledge and confidence i needed to push on with my rehab. Simon is more than happy to answer any concerns or questions between/after sessions you have. I highly recommend. When I'm injured again (which unfortunately will be likely) I won't be looking anywhere else!

Simon and the team at Rise came highly recommended to me by multiple people and after 4 appointments with them for two separate injuries I can say with confidence that I highly recommend them too!
Simon's knowledge and passion for his craft is immediately apparent and he is always attentive and considerate of your needs and goals. He has provided me with personal, targeted feedback that has helped me get back on my feet as soon as possible and has always been happy to answer any questions throughout my recovery.
He has helped me to continue to enjoy the sport I love pain free and has also given

I highly recommend Simon at Bristol based Rise Physiotherapy. His indepth knowledge and intuitive program of rehab helped me back to form after I broke my ankle when climbing. He totally understood my desire to stay as strong and as mobile as possible during my recovery and his advice allowed me to return to climbing swiftly and safely. I had both face to face and remote sessions with Simon and both were incredibly helpful. I was impressed at how effective and focused the remote sessions were. Simon was super friendly and he evidently is very passionate about his work. Thanks again!
