Haidong Gumdo is the swordsmanship of Kokuryo (AD331), the ancient nation of current Korea. Master Sul Bong established a Dojang by Sam Ji Lake in the Baekdoo Mountains and taught his apostles a martial art based on the ideas of patriotism, filial piety, respecting the elderly and executing righteousness.
Master Oh was born in the democratic republic of South Korea in 1967. He began his taekwondo training, like many Koreans, at the age of 5. He continued his training through adolescence and teenage year's right through his compulsory military service in the Korean armed forces. Acting as a body guard during the Seoul Olympics and furthering his education shortly after, he was then introduced to Haidong Gumdo by his TKD Master, Grand Master Cho.
