Armidale Medical Centre is now offering Telehealth appointments for "All Patients". We are conducting appointments over the phone currently and are hoping to implement a video option soon. Some appointments will still require attendance at the practice. If you are unsure if you need to attend for your appointment please call reception on 6772 2233.
If you have a fever with a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath and you have travelled overseas in the past month please call the practice for advice. Practices Nurses are a vital part of our patient's ongoing health management. They work in tandem with your doctor to provide a holistic approach to your ongoing healthcare.

Services
Armidale Medical Centre (formally Barney Street Medical Practice) believes that every individual in the community should have access to high-quality health services. Thus, our team is committed to delivering the best possible care for you and your loved ones, by trying to understand your individual needs and treating you accordingly.
A standard consultation is simple (one problem) and may last up to 15 minutes. Longer and more complicated consultations, as well as excisions and procedures, involve higher fees. Fees are charged for all home visits, Workers Compensation consultations, third party insurance cases and for employment, insurance, and commercial driver's license examinations.
For convenience wherever you are - download the FREE app for your iPhone, iPad or Android device by visiting either Apples Appstore or on your Android Device. If you fail to attend an appointment your Doctor may choose not to bulk bill future appointments. Repeated failure to attend appointments may result in a non-attendance fee or removal from the practice list and you may be required to find an alternative doctor.

Probably the best experience I've ever had at a medical centre. Dr. Maha Selvanathan is a very compassionate and empathetic doctor with a high level of care. The receptionist, James, who I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The extra care and precautions in place at the moment are appreciated and all the staff are doing a great job. It's always stressful going to a new practice and walking in to see LGBTQIA+ welcoming posters instantly put myself and my partner at ease. That was after being greeted by a lovely, welcoming (masked) nurse out the front. Thank you for a really positive

Unfortunately my experience with one of the doctors here was quite unpleasant. I was a patient at this practice for a few years, and I found this lady to be one of the most arrogant, condescending and quite frankly unprofessional doctors I have ever come across.
The ladies working at reception were always very friendly and lovey.
